Flyers fan here. I think them in last doesn't make sense to me. Ik they overachieved, but it wasn't lucky. They were top 10 in most possession stats last year. Adding Michkov and having another year of young guns like Tippett, Foerster, and Brink should make us better. We also play a great team defensive game. I think we have an underrated core in the back end especially if Drysdale and York continue to improve. If our goaltending and special teams (specifically the power play) improve, we have a legit shot at the playoffs.

I could be glazing the Sens rn and people would have pitchforks ready to chop my head off. I can't trust any of the bottom 4 until they prove something
People are way too low on the kings and the Kuemper hate has gone way too far. Last year he struggled but his GSAx was still barely negative and he had 6 out 7 years before that where he was at bare minimum good if not elite.
Disrespecting the Canucks just like most people. Ik you know your hockey tho John this team will prove itself again ik you’ll change the thoughts on Vancouver. This is the most confident I’ve been since 2011 and that includes the year we won the presidents trophy in 2012
As a die hard LA Kings fans I know we don't have Dustin brown, the one that knocked out Henderik Sedin in the 2012 Playoffs but we have Quinton Byfield who also play Ike Dustin Brown. Good luck this year.
For the Atlantic, you could put the top 4 in any order and it would be a good guess, I honestly wouldn't be shocked if any of those 4 won the division. My Cup matchup prediction is Leafs/Stars
As a penguins fan I have a very hard time seeing us make the playoffs our finishing ability was just so bad last year we couldn’t bury chances and our defense is awful because petterson is maybe the only reliable defenseman
Having vegas that high after they lost so many top players and missed the playoffs last year is pure insanity. Pacific: top 4 1. Canucks 2. Oilers 3. Kraken 4. Knights Canucks over oilers because they have better defense, better depth and better goaltending. Oilers have defense issue and glaring goaltending problems. Oilers will have another season of ups and downs because you cant count on outscoring your problems for 82 games.
Oilers are interesting. To me it comes down to who they play. They got much older, much slower, and aren’t physical at all. They have experience and good veteran players. If they play a team like the Panthers who love to lay you out and run all over you, I don’t like their chances. Same goes for if they play a team like Colorado who is known for their speed. I could see them giving the Oilers, especially their bottom six and average defense some issues. I still think Edmonton wins the west, but I think people are over rating them just a bit. They aren’t flawless. Arvidsson gets hurt every season and misses 20-30 games. Just pray that injury doesn’t come towards the end of the season where he misses playoff time. Skinner plays absolutely no defense, and will most likely be on a line with Draisaitl who also plays very poor defense. That like will be all offense no defense. First line will absolutely shred like always. Biggest flaw on the team is defense. Love Bouchard and Ekholm, after that…….. yikes. Nurse is Nurse. Kulak is alright. Emberson is fine. It’s an okay defense core as is, but if Bouchard gets hurt, or if Ekholm who is now 34 gets hurt or takes a step back due to age, then that defense will hurt big time. Lots of questions marks with Edmonton. They SHOULD be the favourites, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if things don’t go as well as people expect.
Going to be interested to see if Arvidson can stay healthy and where Skinner fits in the lineup. Both are pure goal scorers. Maybe they slot around Draisatl, not sure. Something to watch the first few weeks.
Chychrun should not be a top pairing dman if he's gonna play like he did last year. He was a defensive liability who didn't produce offense when he wasn't on the PP. He should be better this year because we know he's capable of it but if they get last years version of Chychrun then that's a problem if he's on the top pair. Last year he was a -30 and had to be demoted to the third pair in favour of Brannstrom because he was so bad. Brannstrom who was stuck with Hamonic last year and had most of his ice time with the third and fourth line actually outproduced Chychrun at even strength despite less ice time and Chychrun playing with the elite forwards most of the time. To make it worse Brannstrom who is tiny was actually more physical than Chychrun.... I'm sure with it being a contract year he will be motivated to bounce back but a lot of this Washington hype could age very poorly if PLD and Chychrun don't play a lot better than they did last year.
Canucks disrespected imo, I think even without Demko they're better than Vegas and hopefully Demko is back soon, we'll see what happens though! Never know until the games are played

basing the devils missing the playoffs solely on last season is the crazy thing they fixed their goaltending and their stars are now healthy. they almost made the playoffs last year when their #1 defenseman only played 1 month and their #1 centers shoulder was falling off 1 month into the season and their goaltenders were abysmal. they were 3rd in the entire league the season before and now their young players are a year older & better
