I feel like Bullfrogs are simultaneously impossible to overfeed and the easiest pet to overfeed. They eat so much and in the wild are opportunistic and should be “kinda fat” but also they will basically eat as much as you give them. Awesome video!!!!! Samson is a BEAST!!!!!

So many popular youtube herpers don't wear gloves when handling amphibians, and when I call them on it get yelled at. Particularly when they are out "herping" in the wild handling many different individuals, and spreading Chytridiomycosis and teaching their viewers bad habits. So good for you Tanner, giving a good example!
You cannot spread anything to amphibians. This is a myth promulgated by conservation extremists to dissuade the general public of touching animals. Not all people are PC enough to wear gloves and masks in the wild.

I feel like you can slowly see him getting wider and wider. At the end of the video he's like a puddle of stomach folds. It's incredible that he still manages to walk at the end. Very beautiful. Very powerful.

I had one of these "friendly little" guys. It was as big as a softball when I got it, twice that by the time I donated it to a reptile zoo as he outgrew the space I could offer it, ate ANYTHING it could get in its mouth, would attack anything that moved including the net, water droplets, plant leaves that moved, etc. I think it needed some anger management counseling. Lol! Definitely one of the more interesting animals I've kept over the years. I actually kind of miss the little guy....

That little snap sound when he's eating is that something you were adding or is that just a sound he makes me eat? How much does he normally eat and how often do you feed him seems like he's just pounding it back
It's totally real. A frog's tongue snapping out makes a noise. You can look up other videos of ABFs eating things like the Mr Pickles Channel to see other examples of it.

This is a great idea for new content, it`s neat to focus on one animal and it gives some context for why they would want their enclosures to be set up they way they do.
I only feed once a week. Usually about this much, but it varies on the menu. If I feed him a rat, then just one. If I go exclusively with something like nightcrawlers, it will most likely be a whole can. I don't go too heavy on items with hard exoskeletons though. They're usually just an add on item.
2 years later you'll probably never see this, but it's a great connection for me between two of the people I have enjoyed following the most. One of the great animal lovers was Gerald Durrell, who pioneered humane breeding zoos. He wrote hilarious books, and in one of them he had a Bufo bufo who shared his desk. Best wishes.
When Tanner does a live feeding video, it feels right. LOL. Circle of life ... that's nature. I like the bull frog. It's cool. You spoiled that frog. A frog with particular eating habits. :) The video is great. It's funny. You put a lot of thought into it.

I’d assume one that grew up in the wild would be more accurate but captive ones don’t need to be to survive
I guess it also helps that some prey items are slow as dirt, once you manage to find them (worms, grubs, slugs, etc)
