    Would you build this kit?
    Have you built this kit?

I would build it, as a modified street version (along the lines of a Hammer). I would source some Aoshima wheels/tires instead of the slicks, tone down the wing.

I think that's the intention of the kit as the interior is a strange mix of track and road car.

For what its advertised to be, its horribly inaccurate, would never touch this kit ever.

If only it had an engine. I haven’t built all the full detail kits I want to yet, so I’m not ready to go curbside only.

Thanks TH-cam for showing me this video. I got the 190E EVO II from Fujimi as my first ever scale car model (still in the box and now I also have a Revell Golf GTI MK 1 😅) and was thinking about getting this kit in the future... Quite disappointed but I'm glad that I would not waste my money on it. I really like your videos man, your channel is probably the main reason why I decided to try this "branch" of the hobby (I already build and paint miniatures for wargames/D&D, etc). Cheers from Spain.

Hi! Very glad the video came in handy and yes, now that I have made this one, I won't get the 190E myself.
That Revell Golf is very nice though - I built one myself before I started the channel and enjoyed it a lot. When looking at Revell kits, look at Scalemates.com and if Revell made it in the last 15 years, It should be pretty good. Cheers!

Interesting looking kit. Not a car I would choose to build myself but it does seem as tho there are many options to build. I like the front spoiler on it and it does give the car an interesting look. Lots of extra bits for the parts bin maybe? Done several other fujimi kits like this that used to be motorized and they are still pretty fun to build and comes with some interesting challenges. I look forward to your build.

Thanks Spencer. Yeah, I did want to build a DTM Mercedes but the Tamiya kit is so rare and expensive now.
This would probably be nice to do an r/c or slot car conversion I think.

I'm not sure whether you are joking or not!

I have the Tamiya version in my to-do-pile with a recently released set of decals to do the 1995 Ellen Lohr car.
This Fujimi kit might be interesting if you want to build a slotcar. I wonder if you could use decals designed for the Tamiya kit on this one. Surely not the complicated ones like D2, but probably the easier ones like Promark.

I'd love to build a D2 liveried Mercedes and thought about buying decals for this - as it is, I've tried to print some of my own to make a car from the 1996 season. I'll put the build up soon when I'm finished.
You're right about the slot car although I don't have a track!

I am yet to find a fujimi kit that’s not crap

The old and new Mini kits of theirs are pretty good. Simple but go together with no issues.

Their G series 911s are ok because they actually include an engine, they make so many versions, and you can mix and match with minor modification. But, the molds still aren’t great. Their 250 GTO kit isn’t bad.

Did the motorised version run on a track like a scalextric? I've heard some Tamiya models used to be motorised too and was wondering about this

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not sure but the front wheels have a positionable steering so that's not like a slot car. I bet you could turn this into one though if it was a 1/24 track.

I made one myself, but this was a very difficult kit.

Typical od non-Enthusiast Fujimi. As little detail as they can put into a kit, and still sell it. Shame, because it's an interesting car. Great review!

Thanks, Gus. Fujimi have some really detailed kits but their reputation is really let down by things like this.

Interior in this kit is from 190E, so not accurate with real C W202 :(
