RIP Natascha, she brought a nice edge to this group, that hasn't been replaced.
Amen
not just her but Mark Lanegan's passing...wow a huge loss, irreplaceable.
dean is quite good too tho hes turned down in the mix
Jesus Someone's In The Wolf is a mindfuck
Fuck yeah..it us that...damn never heard it...mixed good too...im a huge fan of this era of qotsa
Its Hauting!
Josh and Troy are the Most Underrated Guitar Duo of the 21 century
i get what you´re saying, but they aren´t really underrated are they?
@@PGomes-wo9is As a Duo, I've never heard their names much in videos. But I think its known among real musicians that they're terrific
I’d say Brent hinds and bill kelliher of mastodon but Josh and Troy are not far behind, they just play in a band that’s noticeably more famous so they’ve gotten more attention.
@@puppetmaster8551 Very good point
That fucking 'I Think I Lost My Headache' performance blew my mind.
+Nark0Punkz ....Im so very stoned and listening to that right now.... and digging fux out of it
1:30:44 "Drugs ain't free, but they should be. Cause I don't buy"
Way better than original!
Classic.
This and Belfort 2005 should be mandatory viewing for anyone new (and old) to QOTSA! Thanks for this and all your other uploads.
Don't forget about Belford 2007, that was super good too
And Belfort 2011. QOTSA knows how to rock the Eurockéennes.
And now that I'm back watching this vid and seeing these comments, maybe we'll be able to add Belfort 2018 to the list, too.
Yes!
Agree
Natasha was goddess, unlimited talented, such a loss. (not to mention she was a total babe)
Natasha was a beast, played with the two best frontman Chris Cornell and Josh Homme
one of Joey's absolute best gigs... not pushing it too fast, just in the pocket and crushing his beats/tempos.... great set/gig from one of the best of their time at their peak before the drugs brought them back down to earth... QOTSA-FTW
sounds too hard-hitting to me
Any examples of the drugs bringing them down to earth?
@@smwrbdIf you watch their performance at this same festival in 2018 you can see Josh absolutely BLITZED on something, probably trippin balls or speed. But the crazy thing is he fuckin nails everything still. Talking to the crowd you can tell he’s completely out of it. But once he starts playing he doesn’t miss anything it’s really fuckin incredible.
I'm going to tell you man I'm sure the drugs are helping them kick ass a little bit just so you know
Quintessential qotsa! If this is your first time here, watch this whole set without skipping any track, you wont be disappointed! But who am I kidding, this is not your first time here…
For some, hard to listen and appreciate at first, but what a great album Lullabies is. This set demonstrate it.
One of my favorite lps of all time.
An absolute masterpiece! 🖤
Definitely took me a while to come around to some parts I now love.
Best QOTSA album and maybe the best rock album ever.
You can't dislike me baby
It's my little chloes bedtime, so I've saved this to watch/listen with her tomorrow. She really is QotSA's and Josh's truest and biggest fan because for her it's 100% about the music created as she has severe cerebral palsy and is also completely blind. She totally adores them and Josh's voice. I can't wait to watch/listen to this set with her tomorrow. Superb way to start our day. Thank You QotSA love Ali + Chloe xx
Thats an amazing story Ali, thanks for sharing. She has amazing taste, have you let her check out Kyuss too?
She does indeed, she has superb taste like her mum :). We are currently watching/listening to QotSA from this years Reading Festival in surround sound. I don't really know anything by Kyuss, should I hang my head in shame. I know who they are, I just haven't listened to any. Chlöe is say beside me know rocking her head and clapping to Song for the dead. Gotta love her. If you look on my google+ profile you will see Chlöe rocking out to her favourite track. :)
Thats very awesome :)...and you'd love Kyuss, its Joshs old band from the 90s
Yeah I know who Kyuss are-were. Just have never listened to them. I'm completely obsessed with QotSA thou. I burned an Acoustic set of QotSA's to disc for Chlöe to listen to whilst to goes to sleep. She adores them purely for their music and Josh's voice. If I ever get to see them play I will definitely be taking her with me. Just gotta hope they come to the south west of England (Cornwall) or somewhere close by.
+Ali Tolley They were at Reading, I think that's as close as they come to Cornwall? The environment may have been a little bit inaccessible though, but I'm sure you'd manage
That drummer is a beast. Awesome energy. Beats.
Jon Theodore is very good but Joey Castillo suits the band much more...
@@pattonPwr Jhon Theodore ficaria perfeito no foo fighters
Joey is a nasty beast. Love Jon Theodore but Joey will always be my favorite qotsa drummer.
Mine too man….he’s a G
Me too.
joshua homme is my favorite qotsa drummer.
Definitely my favorite tour. Many reasons, the diverse and long setlist, energy, heaviness, and game of musical chairs playing out onstage all contributed. And Eleven was in the band. Wish Mark could have stayed the whole tour.
Gotta love a band inside a band. The Alain/Natasha team was truly something special. I wish Joey could've tempered his tempo-changing tendancies a bit more, though. Sometimes it contributed to the energy, otherwise it was off-putting.
Heyman Heyguys As a drummer myself, I actually didn't mind it. There were occasional songs where it was off putting, like Avon, but for the most part it felt more energetic than rushed. To me at least.
Carlo Von Sexron
Could not agree more, but have a hard time explaining this to other people. The current tour comes close to perfection on a musical level but the Lullabies tour came close to perfection on a Queens level for me.
I'm not trying to nitpick, but I think it's a little unfair to say Eleven was in the band, without Jack Irons. The man's so under-appreciated.
Karuna Kazuma True.

Los lo
It’s in the description
This band brings the goods each show, each year. They are tight from start to finish and leave absolutely everything all over the stage at the end of each show.
Wow! Just a monster of a set. Almost a decade later and I am still blown away.
I don't know why I feel like "I think I lost my headache" is their witchy spell song to hook me in for life. It always puts me in a trance.... needless to say it worked.
This fucking thing just solve the problems of our lives for a certain period of time my friend... That's why... Take care! And hello from a Qotsa Brazilian fan...
Anyone else notice Joey Castillo is blowing bubbles with bubblegum whilst drumming? (First minute of "If Only" is where I noticed it) I'm not a musical guy by any means, so the concept of being able to drum as well/ energetically as he does, whilst blowing bubbles is mental!
I noticed. That blew me away, too!
As a drummer, that’s mad
@@Mertztillithurts I see what you did there ;)
kokaina
Holy shit! This took me out of quarantine depression 🥵 QOTSA fucking rules.
Fucky yeaaaaaaaahhhh dudeeeeeee!!!! Let's rock this shit!!!
8:45 Josh: “this is a very prestigious festival and we’re very proud to be part of it... therefore this song is about fucking”
The best bands on earth are even better live than their awesome recordings.
Agreed
Fuck yeah!!!
Very uncommon set list, pretty lullabyisch...
IMHO my favorite LP.
Love this tour
I like so much this QOTSA formation. Alain Johannes and Natasha Schneider were the only capable of being part of the creation of athmospheric groove like early QOTSA years. They were at the same height of Josh Homme.
Thank you. I could not agree more. Alain should get more respect. He’s pretty cool on Twitter.
I don't know man, Josh's pretty tall
Eleven was 🔥🔥🔥
entire set is deadly
The Blood is Love sounds so good here
Nearly 20 years old and one of their most powerful performances. Really grateful this got preserved in high quality. Absolutely killer. And they still are a machine live today, even after so many lineup changes.
No kidding. just saw them earlier this month in Toronto....they are so dialed in right now. One of the best rock shows ive seen in the last 10 years easily.
I saw them back in August and their live performance was like a bottle of wine, aged to perfection!
Natascha..The most beautiful of them all, Rest in Peace my Dear.
Tightest QoTSA set ever? Sounds so good!
It is a strong candidate, for sure.
If only Joey didn't rush the beat that often. But, well, that's what he does.
And don't get me wrong, he is my favorite QOTSA drummer, but I think he needed to slow down a bit sometimes, depending on the song, obviously.
I would agree completely if it weren't for the Belfort 2005 video.
@@beauner13 Also 2005.. they were killng it.
this was by far their best line up. everything feels right and sounds on point
Nah, not even close.
I would argue that without Nick and Mark it's not as good, but to be fair, aside from Song for the Dead, none of the songs really suffer here without their original voices. Alain also did a great job replacing Nick and I guess he had the added bonus of not beating women.
The way Joey and Josh sync at the end of "I can't quit you baby" is insane.
Not saying Dave Grohl is overrated, but this dude comes rolling like a train
Agreed. Look at Joey go!
I think far too many people are willing to apply Dave's cultural cachet and all-around-good-guy personality as points towards his drumming capability. He's a heck of a performer and impressively multi-talented, and I envy his ease in front of a crowd, but, in an apples-to-apples drummer comparison, I think Dave usually loses.
Joey is my favourite Queens drummer!
@Beau Townsend Check out Dave Grohl with Them Crooked Vultures. He is a beast, and a technician.
Castillo would be the best choice for Dave if the foos keep going. Which I believe is unlikely.
@@seanyoung3865 Wow that’s a great call man. They will obviously need time off to let this all sink in….but yeah Joey would be a great pick. Are Joey & Dave friends?
Seems like Queens has always had that scpecific perfect era, suited for the particular album. Doesn't matter wether I play a concert from 2003 or 2014, everytime I think "fok, that time was great for them". Every era has something different and unique in their live performances. For a long time I was convinced that Era Vulgaris had the best live performances, but whenever I play a different set from a different "album period" that wasn't played for a while, I always come to this conclusion. You can't just describe the pros and cons - every period is beautifully different.
This might be the absolute tightest gig they have ever played honestly
listening again to this show for what seems like the millionth time, and I just noticed the steel drum or marimba counter melody Natasha is playing during Headache. un fucking real.
They're the best... simply _THE BEST!_
One of the greatest concerts ever recorded.
RIP NATASHA! ❤💙❤💙
Better than all the rest!?
Out of all the "mainstream" rock albums of the 00's, Lullabies to Paralyze and its follow-up Era Vulgaris are probably the only ones that truly stand on their own. Deaf spawned its own litany of imitators but the sonic themes and landscapes explored in songs like "In My Head", "Someone's in the Wolf" and "Turnin' on the Screw" etc. weren't replicated by others, even simpler power chord riffages such as "Little Sister" or "3's & 7's" sound like Queens and nothing but the Queens.
❤
I'm not sure I would have survived seeing this live
I love the Nick Olivieri era, but the 3 extra voices really enhance everything, event the oldies.
there is a song for the deaf performance with josh mark and nick screamo really sharing the parts heavenly
I was lucky enough to be there
It is a really pity that they play such gems like"Someone's in the Wolf" and "The Blood Is Love" so rarely
&skin on skin.
They need to play those more, for sure! "Someone's In The Wolf" is one of the great songs ever... "The Blood Is Love", as well.
_Lullabies To Paralyze_ is a masterpiece! It's up there with Queens' best albums, and best albums of the 2000s.
their two best songs
Seriously, those are the two best songs in this show; which this is probably the best live performance I've ever seen
Opening up with Wolf is the ultimate sickest thing any band has ever done for an opener
@@G.G.___162Wild, feral energy
Damn Joey,....
My favourite qotsa members right here. What an era
Kevin VS gotta have Nick there though, especially for his vocal abilities
"Drugs ain't free, but they should be" - Joshua Homme, 2005
That is from I never came
This is 9 years old, that's crazy...awesome gig!
finally a live performance of a song for the deaf.
ive spent the last 2 months listening to qotsa live as im on my pc everyday doing assigments...been a huge fan for 16 years. this is probably the best gig ive ever heard them play, i couldnt believe it
i think this is the best qotsa lineup by far.
their best In My Head performance
Killer Set and best QOTSA ever!
4:31 That smirk from Alain :)
What a performance from a legendary live band...Joey is a beast, a Tasmanian Devil, with controlled chaos....Natasha RIP is captivating...Josh, Troy, and Alain together are magic.....what a show & setlist! Fucking love this band!!
The drummer is a beast!
2005 Best Era for Queens of the Stone Age
Joey is such a PIMP! BEASTMODE!!!!
+Josh Homme, Im not sure I feel pimped as much as honored to join the ranks of fans you've offered to invade their rectums. By "that butt plug" you mean the one you carry in your pocket? Don't worry, though I miss Joey too ;) John is on another level.
Evan McDonnell +1 @Forum? You can show me what your talking about in person, HA!xoxo
Evan McDonnell You know what, you're a cool guy for not getting pissed at that. You're solid gold, and I'll see you in hell!
Their instruments
do have a conversation with each other
Oh, I remember with tears of joy my teenage years...
This setlist is insane
Joey was and will always be a monster of the drums!
joey
I love the new stuff too, haven't got Villains yet, but this concert and the Berlin acoustic concert are my faves to put on and listen to. Really miss Natasha and wonder how she'd be in the band now.
Having Natascha and Alain on board was something else man, the songs and bands alain has been a part of make me sick lol one hell of a resume
R.I.P Natascha! Amazing voice,goodbye sweet angel🖤
The way they filmed a song for the dead is amazing, the quick back and forth shots are so hype
I wonder how someone could watch this, and then give it a dislike.. who are these people that walk among us?
the is one imposter among us
Josh's monotoned stoner magic singing sincerely couchlock's me like no one else, 5stars
For sure top 5 shows of the band ever
QUEEN Natascha forever
The best live version of The Blood Is Love !!!!!
😁👍
This was the best of the best from QOTSA!!! the newer tuff is way to popi!!
I always see comments on how the lineup with Dave grohl and Mark effen Lanegan and Nick O. Is the best. I totally understand why people feel that way, But...... come on, Alain Johannes and Natasha Schneider. They bring something different AAANND solid to the table. So pretty much an even lineup if not better. 🤹 Just saying. 🤙😎 Oh yeah, and this drummer is solid, he's on Dave's heals. Just as good arguably.
I'd take Joey over Dave, and even over John, even though I think that John is the most polished and technically astute of all of their drummers. Joey's style just "makes it" for me.
I am re-watching this whole gig for at least 4 years.
I've never seen them play Everybody Knows You're Insane. It's madness.
For one sec I thought I lost this video forever on youtube, I was so glad when I found it again in 2019 =)
Yep
Qotsa , without your Righteous Music ; I would almost be permanently Sick.
You have Made the Past 3 Years
So Complete... Thank you for
Being True Rock Stars....
🤘
best qosta Era wonderfull setlist
Beautiful, duas guitarras conversando
One of their best performance of Lullabies. Awesome.
Someone's in the Wolf is what I watch.
I'm just so shocked now... What the fuck dude.... What a level of rock
ooooh the blood is love
Thanks for this!
Joey is just a beast no question and Natasha had such a cool style best lineup IMHO
So did I just discover the greatest set list ever
This set list is unreal, lullabies era QOTSA is my favorite! long live the Queens!
Absolutely best! Josh,Joey,Nick and Troy - definition of genius ❤️
What a great set list would have loved to see this version of qotsa live !
Saw this lineup in Hartford headlining, then at MSG opening for NiN. Hartford show kicked ass.
Wow man, I love this video since it came out! Thank You!
Those were the days!!! Oh, man!!!
That was absolutely flawless!!! Bravo Queens of the stone Age! Fucking talented. Mf's!!!! Like Stevie Ray Vaughn music flows thru your veins Josh. Truly one of a kind the world is blessed to have you. The gift that it gives to you is. THE GREATEST GIFT YOU GIVE TO ME. Sumeone knows!!!
Thank you so much.
Sandra Lucas
Wow. Best QOTSA lineup ever. So much energy.
By far my favorite QotSA formation. Great performance!
My favorite lineup.
You cant quit me baby 🤟🏻
Best QOTSA ever❤
Josh Homme is so spoiled with who he’s had in his band
He got Nick, Alain, and Mikey Shoes on bass?
Alfredo, Gene, Dave, Joey, and Jon?
Not even fair haha
That line-up and the material they performed was something truly magical.
What a build up, what an ending, what a band!
@@randythomastheinsecures5404 Definitely insecure
