Omg THANK YOU!!! Finally after googling this like 20 times and getting so frustrated by the horrible instructions by venmar, I found your video. I wanted to know how to set it in winter. 😊
Thank you for your informative video! We just purchased a new home with this particular model, and your walk-thru really helps me understand what to do and when. Appreciate it! :)
Thanks for the video! I set mine to 35% ish on min and it runs non stop, it never turns off even when the house humidity says it’s below 35%. Am I doing something wrong?
Please clarify - are you saying to sit it off in the summer, or all the way clockwise and left on "min" for the air circulation you mention at the start of the video. Winter setting make perfect sense. Summer settings are full of conflicting info. Hope you can clarify. Thanks
I have one of these units. I'm confused. You talk about humidity "percentages" in the shaded area of the dial, but the dial reads in "degrees", not percentages (5degrees, -5 degrees, -20degrees)? Can you clarify please?
Same here. Always found that to be confusing. What I gather is that the higher up (counterclockwise), the higher the tolerance for high humidity in the house, and the lower the dial (clockwise), the less inside humidity will be kept (I.e. unit will suck in dry winter air from outside more aggressively until inside humidity drops to specified point). But in high humidity both inside and outside (summer) it's pointless to try to use heat exchange for humidity control - a dehumidifier will do that.
But to your question: the degrees on the dial are your estimate of the outside temperature in order to spare you the trouble of estimating appropriate indoors humidity levels.
Thank you for the video. My wall controller doesn't seem to work no matter what option I select it doesn't change even if I try to turn the unit off. I'm currently using the button that comes with the unit to control the intensity. Any idea why my wall controller doesn't work?
Hi Kurt, thanks for puting up some learning video about air exchange unit. BTW, if I run 24/7 in min would it incurr significant hydro bill? In ny previous house I had controller that allowed to set intermittent run ( 20 mins in hour).
@@nelsonpeddle8972 I've become more concerned about pollutants inside over the years based on air samples and studies. So I've shifted to believing that higher ventilation rates are more likely to give us healthier air.
If you’re heating or cooling your house , you’ll have to pay to reheat / recool the exchanged air, right? For me, my heat is electric so it’s expensive

How to set for high humidity in summer
Perfect explanation.
Thank you for this video 👍
Mine does not have the on / off min max switch. Would mine be an older model.?

There is a toggle switch on the HRV unit itself that needs to be to toggled to the “Remote” position.
@@tommymathison Where is the toggle switch located? I can't see one on my unit.
Thanks for this video!

units use very little electricity. Maybe $5 (low) to $15 (high) per month. To me, that's cheap insurance. I run mine high speed all the time.
@@kurtj92 Didn't you say to run it at minimum at all times? So high or minimum?

What is the nature of your question? Venmar or Fresh Air Ventilation Systems. Did we do something wrong?
