In regards to the planes being different colors, one is a German Fokker Dr 1, and painted red (which was the Red Baron's plane). I took it to mean that the soldiers who were buried on the mountain was seeing all parts of the war, now that they weren't live ("I saw the end of war, I watched the soldiers come and go...Saw many brave men fell in the battles that were raging down below..."). And later, we see two WW2 German planes (showing that the soldiers were still watching as they were still there.
@@EvyTheFox Bismarck is awesome. And the unkillable soldier. I do not like Christmas truce but many love it. En livstid i krig live from Gothenburg is a must see.
If you want pieces of history that are rarely mentioned: (both from Sabaton) - Race to the Sea (Belgium flooding what's left of the country to stop the German advance) - Resist and Bite (Belgian elite corp slowing down the blitzkrieg in the Ardennes. Bonus point for having my grand father being part of that corp (though not in the events depicted)) Am I biased toward Belgium? Maybe... Or maybe I have more in my sleeves later :p
Loved your reaction Evy❤️ the song hit me a lot actually since from my dad's side I had 2 ancestors in 2 different world wars: My great grandfather fought during WW1 with the Italian Alpines both on Monte grappa and Marmolada and survived to the white Friday but his earing remained permanently damaged and was decorated a war hero with the Italian Chivalry Cross (highest honor for a soldier) while my grandfather fought during WW2 in the battle of Don and was the only survivor of his artillery batallion.
"White Friday" Specifically refers the series of avalanches that occurred in dolomite mountains on December 13th, 1916 while most focus on the ones that specifically occurred on Mount Marmolada which cost the lives of 270 Austrian and Bosnian soldiers after 200,000 tons of snow weakened by early thaws and heavy snowfall crushed their barracks at 5:30 AM, ultimately between 2,000 and 10,000 soldiers and civilians on both sides would die that day making it the second deadliest avalanche in history after 1970 Huascarán Avalanche
Fun fact, the soldier in the snow has the austro-hungarian uniform, the ghost raising from it has the italian version of the adrian helmet, it always makes me smile a little :' )
Chosin valley; Korean War. It's WW1 WW2, KW in one music video; This was about the abandoned pilots; ultimately relating to fighter pilots and reconnaissance marines dying in overwatch positions while conventional forces were retreating.
You´re right with your suggestion about the historic facts in the song. There are more Sabaton songs to discover like No bulltes fly (animated video), Bismarck, Night Witches, The price of a mile, Fields of Verdun, Christmas Truce, 40:1, To hell and back, etc.
If you liked this, you will not be disappointed with any video from this album. I must say you have an amazing amount of history knowledge! I had never heard of this battle before the song released.
funny story, i grew up around the harbour of Bruges. when I was 10, i did a competition about the history of Word War 1, and was allowed to take a spot in the honoring celebration of Saint Georg day in Belgium with old veterans, put down flowers at the graves, and even got an award for it. thats where my love for history started. one of the prices were 10 books with the entire history of the wars and almost every battle was explained. Also helps thats im in flanders and the war history is still very much alive here
as you quoted "frozen in time"...its a metapher, and horrible truth. Due to global warming, every year fallen Soldiers from 1916 are found by climbers or mountainers. Maybe, they will come home after a century, I´m not familiar with italian news
Ayyoooo! This was some amazing reaction content, top notch! Cant wait for you to see more of their newest album. Their vids they have made for some is amazing. And also the lyrics for every song is equally good. Did you just say that you have seen Sabaton live? Im so jealous. They were in my town like 2 months ago and i missed it :( Just a warning: If you are ever going to do Sarajevo OR Versaille. Its better for you to listen to them in one sitting. 1st Sarajevo and then Versaille, ofc, probably dont have to tell you that.
I've used some sabaton songs for history projects, however it only works when you have teachers who are opened minded and educated Edit: I always thought that red plane was the Red baron as a sort of reference to their song
Italians and AustroHungarian Empire had good relations before WW1 , but some things happened , and also the allies promise to italian goverment some areas of AHE so the italians change sides and they start attack to AHE through the Alps but AHE also attacked almost immidietely but the AHE use the plain to bomb the snow mountains at the time so they caused avelanges and kill many soldiers (even AHE soldiers) and till today in the area find dead from that time
Good reaction. Recommend Sebnem Ferah. Not many reactions, a shame. Ms. Ferah is a top level rock star and a pioneer in Symphonic Metal. A good start would be... Şebnem Ferah - Ben Şarkımı Söylerken (10 Mart 2007 İstanbul Konseri) (While I'm Singing My Song)
You know your history. But the Italians also did similar attacks against the Central Powers armies here. Both tried to used the elements and geography to their advantage with varying degrees of success.
TBH you failed hard in the Historycal analysis. The Red Plane was the Red Baron the GERMAN Fighter Ace not an Austro-Hungaryan one. Besides the Italinas and Austro Hungaryans lost 250-25000 Thousand Mens and it was an Alpine battle where each side tried to Bomb the SNow behind the Enemy Army with Artillery and Plains. In the Comments some People say Serbians but Serbia Capitulated in 1914 so they were fully disarmed. Italy vs Austo-Hungarian Troops and German Assist Corps like the Famous Tank General Erwin Rommel. He fought up on the Alps too.

The plane shots are actually that they show how time goes on.
The red plane is the Red Baron and in the end it's WWII planes.
Fox teaching me some history with great music 💪. Great 🦊 reaction vid 😊

Please do more sabaton. I watch because atleast you are educated on the World Wars. Its great to watch someone who knows what they are talking about!
I 100% need to get into making videos again 😅 which Sabaton video would you like?

Thats amazing. If they arent open to it, thats bad teaching on their part. Keep finding knowledge through music and you'll always be rich
