The 2022 Padres Were a Chaotic Mess (It Was Awesome)

- Hey everyone!
Back in 2021, the Padres ended their season with one of the worst collapses in recent MLB history. Ahead of the 2022 season they sought to prove a world series championship was still achievable. While the 2022 Padres season was filled with chaos, it made for one of the most memorable seasons in team history.

November 8, 2022: Chaotic Mess Video
November 8, 2023: Championship Video?
The perfect trilogy?
Phillies video coming soon...
If that happens, you should be a fortune teller!
Hopefully
It will happen, speak it into existence!! Go Pads!
I would pay to watch that video.
LFGSD
Robert Suarez went from having an infinite ERA and not being able to throw a strike in his first outing to being one of the most sought after relievers/closers in baseball. Crazy to think given his story and how he started the year
and the converse with manaea. went from sought after starter that threw 7 hitless frames in hit debut to god i wish we had never thrown him in the second half.
The first game of the 2022 season for the padres made me so mad
god i hope they resign suarez...
It’s not crazy if you understand baseball, nerves, or human anatomy at any level
@@vangeles11 And they did. Future closer
As a diehard Padres fan who watched damn near every pitch all year long, this video did an amazing job capturing the wild season. Good stuff!!
Thanks Ryan!
Tier 1 Legend Ryan Cohen in the comments?! I'm already fiending for next season!
@@cameronclark6556 tier 1s rise up
As I too am a diehard Padres fan, I turned my nose up at this video title. However, being a slut for anything Padres, I sat down to watch it. As the ad was playing I opened up the comments and see Ryan Cohen’s reply at the top of the list? I’m sold. Watching the whole video. Even though I feel I rival Ryan’s fandom, he is sealed in every Tier 1’s heart as THE Padre fan. And I support it 🫡😘
Counting down the days until Spring Training 🥵
Absolutely insane edit with hader against the heart of the dodgers lineup. I was on the edge of my seat watching that inning, especially when freeman came up to bat against hader after having an insane night and knocking the brewers out of the layoffs last season. Seeing that redemption from hader was enough to make a grown man cry
One pitch away from having an immaculate inning
Loved the dedication and effort placed into making this video. As a lifelong fan this season made me so proud and emotional. Can’t wait to see what next season and the future holds for our team. I know this will be the team to bring the first championship to San Diego, GO PADS!!!!
Thank you! I hope next season is even better
After the 2010 Padres roster got demolished, with all of my favorite players leaving or being traded away, I stopped caring about baseball. The Padres losing was never a surprise and I just didn’t care anymore. But I went to a game for my dad’s birthday this year and fell in love again. This season was fantastic and so was this video. Thank you!
Thank you! I hope next year is even more exciting
Never give up on the Padres.
Glad they built that bridge of baseball back into your life
Welcome back along with all the other bandwagons lol
I don't watch baseball but this made me a Padres fan. Thank you 💪🏿
You’re like the only TH-camr to show love to the padres. Much respect
he is a padres fan haha
bruuuuuh really
Even though the Mets lost to the Padres, watching the Padres this year was very fun to watch. I want them to get their own championship eventually (after the Mets tho)
Cohen is about to spend so much money
and I am SO READY for it
Shouldn’t you want your team to make it to the World Series every year? I’m a Cardinals fan and I’m never gonna root for another NL team.
I'm a lot simpler, I just enjoy good baseball. There's no harm rooting for the success of other teams despite whatever team you support. Obviously I want the Mets to make the WS every year, but no team has won the world series in consecutive years since 1999-2000, it's in stages. Plus I have a whole system I use to decide who to root for, if not the Mets.
@@BaseballAF I only root for another team if my team is knocked out
The Padres really went from
National Beer Day to NLCS.
Hats off from a Phillies fan 😂
Their bats were so hot during on series. Two of the best late rallying teams was a joy to watch.
As a dodger fan the phillies stole the World Series from the padres.
pads fan here, really was pulling for you guys in the WS! shame it ended the way it did
Yeah money tends to do that to a team.
@@realeyesrealizereallies1194 All teams have money. Most refuse to spend it to better their team, however.
Always love it when sports TH-camrs make long videos about their own team. You can see the knowledge and passion. You saw it with your last Padres video and SRS’s Wilpons video
Thank you! That SRS vid is definitely one of my favorites
This makes me very emotional of 'what could have been'. To beat the 2 best teams in the NL, then to fall short at the NLCS was devastating. This was the chance of a lifetime as the Padres are not a team that is consistently in the playoffs. I hope we don't take another 24 years to get a chance at the World Series... Born in the 70's - Just hope the Padres win a World Series in my lifetime.
Brother, don't worry about a thing. My father lived to be 60 but died of covid. He wasn't able to see Last year's playoff run. I get where you're coming from but the Padres got Xander and Tatis is in the right mind state for us to finally take the division. It won't take the Padres years to get back to the playoffs again. We're gonna lock up all 4 studs for years to come. Padres are already expected to make the playoffs again and this time I expect them to make the World Series and hopefully take it
They probably will but it’s going to take a miracle to do so, it depends on if they can keep this current team together or will they slowly let players go due to free agency like when Juan Soto becomes a free agent you know he’s going to receive huge offers from several teams
Or will they end up being like the San Diego Chargers they come close each year but can never win the big one when it matters (always the bridesmaid never the bride)
We shall see
Lifelong Padres fan here, love your videos man.
This one is bittersweet for me though, such a fun season, but that end still stings.
Beating the dodgers felt like they could beat everyone but the Phillies just got lucky with the blooped hits and with nick casteanos making plays he’s never made before
@@TheWancer and Harper, When he just looked at the change up from Suarez for a ball that everyone else was biting on, I knew it was over.
@@TheWancer I mean the padres got lucky considering how bad the umpires were in the playoffs since they got a whole run gifted to them in the last game along with a horrendous rain shower only while the dodgers were hitting in the 8th. Fun series but to say the phillies got lucky is kinda forgetting the padres were choking in runners along with grisham returning to hit like poop
@@maibigbutt5669 to be fair they were the worst team with risp, something to work on in the off-season i guess
Lifelong Padres fan, this season may not have ended how we wanted, but it was still fun. Excited to see what we put out there next year. LFGSD.
th-cam.com/video/dnk-JBzjzPM/w-d-xo.html
I was at game 3 at petco. It was such a surreal experience. Like I have gone to countless padres games, and it looked like a padres game, but everything felt so much bigger. It was a crazy experience
Bonus points for having the edit of Freeman/Hader reunion from prior year. It really sealed it all together. Watching the Padres play the Mets in NY during the Wildcard series, it felt like watching your kid go from elementary school to high school. How would they fare? Well, I'm happy with what they accomplished. They're not done, and the rest of MLB knows it.... but I think Padres are up to the challenge. And a big thanks to Jorge Alfaro for giving us "Let's Fucking Go San Diego!" for years to come. He has an open seat to every cookout from San Ysidro to Oceanside.
in 2022 I spent a season in SD, and as a brazillian kid, i've never watched baseball, but the padres caught my heart, and now I dont't miss any game
Oh man oh man oh Manny! After knowing all the big moves the Pads just made. The 2023 season is about to be even more epic for the Padres. Great video and fun to reminisce on all the crazy moments of last year. Can’t wait for many more coming. Manny for the long haul. LFGSD!!!
My Mom took my me and my brother to our first game in ‘69. I’ve been suffering for (the most part) 50 years…this is wonderful!
Seeing Vesia give up that single to Jake will be etched in my head forever as a Padres fan. Just to see the reliever who absolutely owned us all season long break in the moment they needed him the most and to see Jake come up big :’)
First, but Fr, they were insane this year
I’ve been on this earth for 21 years and believe me, it’s nice to win for once. Can’t wait for next season. Love the effort put into this video!
LFGSD
Reliving that 7th inning with the dodgers hurt a bit more than I thought.
Honestly as an Astro fan I wouldn't have minded seeing Padres in the World Series. Kinda hope they win it all next season
I would have lowkey hated it as a fellow Astros fan. I always want to root for teams that have never won the World Series in addition to the Astros. This makes 2019 particularly confusing to me because the Nats were so easy to root for that year, but I wouldn’t really change the outcome if I could. 2022 was different; we needed a redemption. And I’m glad it was against a team I have zero praise for outside of Harper and Realmuto (no disrespect to the Phillies, I think they’ll do great for years under Thomson).
This was a great video!! Thanks so much for making this. I got emotional remembering all of the great moments this past season! LFGSD
It was definitely the most fun I've had as a Padres fan in my lifetime
I love the juxtaposition of the 2 very different Hader and Freeman matchups. A little personal redemption for Hader sprinkled in. Nice touch Mr. Storm 👍
The LCS was closer than the 4-1 record would lead you to believe. In 5 games the Phillies only outscored the Padres by 4 runs and only had 1 win by more than 2 runs.
This was a very fun video. It really gave me all the feels that I went through the last 9 months. Thanks SS.
love the 2022 Padres so much. great video chronicling the rollercoaster that was this team!
As a lifelong Padres fan, I don't think I've ever been more proud of this group of guys. They way they fought and struggled down the stretch to get there, and coming up in the biggest moments...it was something we hadn't seen in a very long time.
Also, they better not take Kim out of the lineup. I will riot.
You bring of the best pacing and audio mixing to any baseball channel on TH-cam. Great video as always👌
Thank you so much!
Great summary of our Padres season! Very memorable. Thanks!
What an incredible video! You are so gifted and did a splendid job on this. Thenk you so much! (From a Padres fan)
I gotta give you a standing ovation to the quality of this video. I just discovered your channel and I’m absolutely impressed.
This video was amazing! Captured every last moment and the detail was perfection! 2023 is the Padres year. Let's Go San Diego!!
As a lifelong Padres fan, this was a very well-put-together video! Thanks, SportsStorm!
Your editing is so good! I am a die hard Cardinals fan, but I enjoy just love baseball in general and love watching other teams have breakout success.
Being a Padres fan this year was so difficult at times man
wait - when has it been easy
My fellow Pads fan, when has it ever been easy being a padres fan?
Love this video, I remember watching the Mets game and being like "We're going to the playoffs lets go!" then seeing who we were up against which was the Dodgers and being like "Can we just have one nice thing" then when I watched every game of the Dodgers game except the second (which I was pissed about because Jake got a homerun who is my favorite player) and when they made it to the championships it was one of the most amazing series ever one that San Diego will never forget.
Extraordinary video. 👏🏾😤
It was nice reliving the series.
Loved it, thanks for the content!
Awesome video. Thank you.
I remember when Seth Beer hit that home run, Diamondbacks fans thought he would be the savior of their season. He ended up only playing in 38 games and finished with an -0.9 WAR. He also didn't hit another home run after that game.
Can't wait for your vid on the 2023 Padres
You are truly a blessing for the city of San Diego! Great video!
This was great video🔥👏🏻
I totally missed the Freddie Freeman-Josh Hader NLDS connection this year. A year after Freddie Freeman eliminated Hader's Brewers in the NLDS with a game-winning home run, Hader strikes out Freeman (both in different uniforms) to send his team to the NLCS.
Baseball is the best. Stuff like this is why I always tell people that I don't care for sports rivalries and just love baseball: the storylines are the best. Even as a Phillies fan that's supposed to have rivalries with other teams and their fans, how can I hate on any baseball team when storylines like these are so fantastic? Greatest sport in the world.
GREAT VIDEO. NARRATION AND EVERYTHING. REALLY PULLS OUT EMOTIONS. GOOD JOB
The editing in this video is top tier keep up the great work
Great video...subscribed!
Oh man we’re eating good today - was waiting for this one.
Thanks for the wonderful content.
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Would love to see a video about the 2022 Baltimore Orioles and the future for the 2023 season
Love the video keep up the good work up man you just got a new subscriber
Awesome video!
These videos are going to be so good to look back on in like 5-10+ years
This video is amazing! I was able to be at games against the dodgers and it was so crazy to be their! Such an amazing season! Great video!
Thank you!
Dude I just love these long videos
I was watching for a 2022 padres video. Good video bro
this has to be one of the best edited videos i’ve seen in a while gave me chills
So many ups and downs this season.
They surpassed my expectations and finished on a high note considering their franchise player didn’t even play.
Excellent video
oh yes i've been so looking forward to you making this vid
I’d love to see one of these done for the blue jays! Great vid
This video gave me goosebumps. LFGSD! This is our year!
Amazing video! it was great to relive all the great moments! Failing to make the WS builds character to make it next year and win it all!!! We had some great moments! Great Great Season!!!
Beautiful video
hell yeah birthday video!! :D
Great Video
Beautiful Video
As a Padres fan, this is probably the best video I've seen about our situation.
I have been a padres fan since 2015 and have seen the many rides this team went on to get to this point and seeing them beat the Mets and dodgers got me very emotional and excited for the years to come
Great video brother !!! 🟡🟤
Subscribed for sure
Dodgers post season series was one of the greatest feelings ever.
was at game 4 --- literally got chills with the review
Thank you !!
This is one of the best baseball videos i have watched on YoTube
was watching my padres all season, and let me say what a rollercoaster season. but despite all the ups and downs, my highlight of the season has to be being able to watch that Game 4 of the NLDS at Petco. that 7th inning was electric
The flashback with Hader and Freeman 👍🏻 great touch
This year was up there with the Dallas Stars 2020 Stanley Cup run for me. Although I'm bummed that the Padres couldn't make it to the World Series this year gave me wishes beyond my wildest dreams. Can't wait to see what 2023 brings us (I'll stubbornly hope for Carlos Rodon 😂)
This was a great vid. I just became a fan of the Padres because of it. My heart and soul belong to the blue jays. But these Padres have something special going on.
It was still an amazing playoff run. It was exciting and I am glad I was there when we took out the Dodgers.
The Padres got Mike and Matt to rethink their lives so there’s that
They were close this year so close, just ran into a brick wall in the Phils, who ran into a bigger one in Houston. Slam Diego WILL have its day, I know it!
Dude that Hader vs Freeman edit is awesome
I was at the game 1 loss at dodger stadium and my exact words to my gf walking to our car were “we got the pitching the win this series, we are gonna beat LA despite losing game 1. I get goosebumps still thinking bout the whole playoff run, the energy in SD, especially downtown was INSANE AND ELECTRIC!!! I also had the privilege of going to game 2 against the Phillies at petco and can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life. It was simply amazing to be there, the crowd was lit and chanting and rocking like u see at crazy soccer games. When Blink 182 came on and the whole stadium was singing I had a smile from ear to ear. If I could bottle up that feeling it would be priceless! 2023 is gonna be insane, I am a first time season ticket member (40 game package) god willing next year I ll make the jump to the full season. But I am so amped and ready for this season to begin. Being born in LA but moved out here when I was 5 years old, I am a San Diegan. Being 41 now I still remember having to order padre home games on pay per view waaaaaaay back in the early 90’s. I know a lot of people that weren’t fans back then but my pops and me were. We watched a countless amount of games on Prime network, then Ballys and now we younger kids do t know how spoiled they are cuz u can basically watch every game of the season. My pops passed away three years ago but I know he was smiling down at me when we beat LA. LFGSD!!
This is lit
That call back with hader n freeman was sick lol
Gave me goosebumps
Great editing!
Padres’ time is coming soon for sure. Same with the Blue Jays. They’re both so close.
I actually that the Blue Jays will win the AL East in 2023. The Yankees are crumbling and the Blue Jays will take their place assuming they get good pitchers. In fact, I predict the Orioles beating out the Yanks for the Wild Card. Neither will likely be enough to beat the Astros, but they are getting there.
I was there when drury hit the grand slam, and that was the best day of my life ♡
Go Padres! It'll be interesting to see what moves we make this off-season and of course Fernando coming back. Should be fun
As a lifelong Padres fan the best thing last year would have been to win the World Series. The second best thing happened. See you next year LA
"...and a new mascot The Goose. The Padres now had the GOLDEN opportunity"
PERFECTION *chefs kiss*
This video will hit so good in march.
Took my dad to his first padre game versus white Sox that Saturday before clinching the wild card it was an amazing experience
That Hader flashback against Freeman was sick
11:05 that kid in the yellow shirt in left field, jumping up and down was me
I LOVE SPORTSTORM "WHEN HE DOES POST LIKE THESE" ONE OF THE BEST BASEBALL TH-camRS OUT THERE ONLY ONE I FIND BETTER IS FUZZY. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
As a padres fan an interesting stat that I found is that the 2022 padres never won more than 5 games in a row. They're best 2 week stretch was 9-5. They were the definition of hot and cold and I loved every second of it
They were like 44-27 at one point. They were pretty mediocre after that
@@andrewpestotnik5495 We were mediocre in that run of games too, it was basically great pitching and manny bailing everyone else out. The team didnt click till the dodgers series before we went on to play the white sox in the regular season. I remember just feeling the team finally clicked and I was right when I said they'd beat the dodgers if they met again in the playoffs
That hader freeman edit at the end went hard
