I think what makes Delthea’s death so sad is the way her voice actress (Christine Cabanos) handles the scene. She’s known for handling emotional scenes very well
Just like with Hapi in Three Houses and Three Hopes.
You should hear her mourning quote for Luthier -- I'd say it's only topped in emotion by Est's mourning quote for Catria and Palla
Delthea: "Get up, Lu, you big dummy! Get up!"
Est: "No... I can't go on without the three of us!"
Brianna Knickerbocker (Est voice actress) makes me cry when she gets emotional. She made me shred tears when she cried as Erica from Berserk (2016).

Python and Forsyth's after battle quotes when the other dies...the hurt is too much.
Yeah. I didn't give much of a fuck about Forsyth, but he grew on me a lot with his Python interactions despite being beyond second fiddles to every other tank.

Same with Genny. She literally joined Celica at the last moment just because she wanted to support her friend. Her dying is just tragic.

Kliff's hits a lot harder when you remember he's the youngest of Alm's original friends and only left Ram because he wanted to increase his knowledge of the world. Its also a shame we didn't hear Sonya's because her delivery is killer, she's definitely crying in the club but nowhere near Delthea.

Remember that by the end of each enemy encounter, a character makes a remark, wether the batle was easy or of they're fatigued?
Yeah, when a character dies, someone says something In regards to their deaths, and there's some character specifics. The worse ones are:
- Est mourning either Palla or Catria
- Delthea mourning Luthier
- Forsyth mourning Python
Pavise Do the morning quotes.
Clair 100% to me is definitely chopping onions when you consider who she is and who she's talking about.
Also yeah I feel like people are too harsh on Faye. You can hear her breath starting to fade which is hard for me to listen to.
AND SPEAKING OF FADING, ALM IS TOTALLY CRYING IN THE CLUB YOU CAN ACTUALLY HEAR HIS SOUL LEAVING HIS FUCKING BODY IN HIS LAST WHISPER AND THAT JUST TEARS ME IN HALF, DAMN DUDES

Kyle McCarley really nailed it with Alm's death quote. You can hear Alm struggling and fighting for every last breath until it leaves him. Great flourish of detail.
Shoutouts to whoever uploaded Sonya's death quote after this livestream because nobody either recruited her or let her die for any reason (as far as I'm aware)

@@opalyasu7159 depends, I find saber out performs saber and Sonia out performs may, although Sonia does require a bit of work. For my style of taking time with every map I prefer Sonia. But I can certainly see Deen being better if you go for runs using the least amount of turns
You wanna add to the pain? Some endings will be altered depending on the deaths of specific characters like if Tatiana or Zeke survived but one of them died. Some of them are just depressing... especially if you killed Matilda and kept Clive alive.
The alternate character deoendant endings in SoV has some of the most depressing and gut-wtenching writing in the series.
The fact that if Tobin and Clair die, Gray turns into a completely depressed alcoholic is just so sad. The most happy go lucky and aloof member losing all joy, cause he rebounds if only one of the two die but just, wow...
Gray dying with confidence. Man knows his worth. ✊
Delthea and Mathilda gave me chills.
With Mae, I want to say that I let my younger siblings play Echoes. They got Mae to die repeatedly because they thought her death quote was hilarious.

@Spidercreature All Fire Emblem games have death quotes. These (Echoes and 3H) are the only ones with voice acting. There is a difference.

For these post-battle quotes, If someone died they'll mourn them. If it's someone they cared about...it'll be heartbreaking.

Something that could be interesting would be to rank, or at least react to the character death reactions in echoes, it’s something rarely seen since the turnwheel is op, but those reactions have some great voice acting

These quotes make me appreciate casual mode more especially in this game because this is the hardest fire emblem I've ever played and in endgame I couldn't get through a battle without losing someone.
SoV has the best artwork and VA's imo.
Also extra sadness points: Delthea is only 13 years old.
Pretty sure their death qoutes vary based on how far you are into the game too.

The death quotes are pretty sad, but I feel like the real stuff is in the after battle reactions.
The stuff they put there is heart crushing.
Post battle quotes when there's a fallen ally is just as impactful, Hoping for a tier list for that.

These death quotes hit way more harder with the battle results screen because a good portion of the cast just rips my heart but the Pegasus sisters would be top for their delivery.
