- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2011 BMW 550i Gran Turismo xDrive. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this vehicle while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of the 550i GT designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

My mom has this car and when she first got it, I wasn't to fond of the look but it definately grew on me. Driving behind it or in front of it, this car looks pretty bold and intimidating. I LOVE it. Occationally when I'm lucky, I get to take it for a spin. I has LOTS of power and its really fast!!! Super fun on highways!! Overall its a great car but I'm more into dodge chargers. Hopefully one day when I get one, me and my mom can put them to the test!

I saw some of these in Europe this summer. They look A LOT better in person, especially in black.
There are actually 3 ways to open the trunk. You can also open it by the keyfob.

Great video, as always. I have recently fallen in love with this car. It looks so sleek and beautiful. I think this whole 4-door coupe concept is great, it just needs some time to grow on people.

How spacious is this trunk compared to the A7s trunk? The 550i GT says 10 cu ft but doesn't look that small

Beautiful 550 GT. I was a little shocked at the way they looked when they first came out.. But i loved it after i got to drive one. They are super fast for being such a big car, sound great to.
@CasualLuxuries xDrive is an "intelligent" electrical all-wheel traction control system that through Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) sensors can redistribute power between the axles depending on what is felt on existing road conditions

The BMW 5 series does have a proper wagon variant, but it's limited to Europe.
i like BMW's new transmission shifters. they make everything nice and simple now.

Is there anything different from 2010 to 2011 550gts and 535gts? Also why did you say new navigation system, is the 2010 different from 2011?

@JednaBelda from my own experience models before 2004, when you press unlock key once it will unclock drivers side only and on second it will open all doors.
Not sure about new ones...
@BreakItLikeItsHot exactly, personally i like the way it looks but it comes down to enjoying the ride of the car rather than the outside of it. So again idk why everyone hates it JUST because of its looks

BMW North America President Jim O'Donnell was quoted as saying the 5 Series GT was a "mistake." Just read that recently in BMW Car Club of America magazine (Roundel)
Turns out he was right - took until 2014 to make these decent (using the N63TU engine).
What was the button next to the power hatch closing button on the trunk?
Not the most pleasing to some peoples eyes, but I like that thick rear. I added Dual cutouts and she roars.
@Volume1216 you are always welcome, it's hard to tell the difference between most Audi and BMW interior from their 98-2010 models, they all seem to have the same dashboard. Atleast Audi made some chanes with their new a8
X5 or 550i gt, which do you prefer
I kinda like this car, but then again I also like the Porsche Panamera as well. It's got a rather sleek look to it which I find apealing to the eye.

@terrance960 I know what you mean, but I like very much roomy luxury and with tall position cars, and the 5GT its one . I also like the cls, even more than 5GT exterior, but I love the interior of the 5GT, it´s amazing !

@TheBumish A GT car is a car that has the engine in the front and is comfortable to drive for long distances.

Yeah it didn't really seem bmw like to make the v8 sound so weird at idle but I guess it's fine with me
@upiluften True, all cars have some plastic. What I meant to say was that most cars nowadays are ALL-plastic and not much metal like in pre-1980 cars, which in my opinion shows better craftsmanship from the car manufacturers.

@upiluften haha I was born in the 90s too. I started getting interested in older cars when I first saw my uncle's 1956 chevy Bel Air 4-door sedan when I was younger. The interior smelled so damn good. I was astonished by the amount of chrome and metal on the car. Hell, even when you flick the turn signal, you hear metal snapping instead of plastic. They just don't make 'em like they used to. =(
@Volume1216 after going through two transmission problems with Honda, i dont think i can go with them again, the new tl is nice but i think honda should work on their transmissions, lots f complains these days.
Ok so this car does make a diesel kind of noise. I thought something was wrong with the 550i I'm currently looking at

By pressing the button once it only unlocks the driver side door,by pressing it twice it unlocks all doors..

damn this is the 5 series Goofy T, at first when i looked at the clip i thought it was the new 1-series, it looks almost exactly identical from the front to me.

Plastic looks cheaper than carpet. ALso most cars have the back of their rear seats carpeted and it has worked well over years. Also take notice that people buying a 5 series will rarely load their car's trunk with dirty stuff.
