HABS setting the culture at this rookie camp. Work hard, play fast..... i love it
Along with Knuckles, I really enjoy the Marinaro podcasts. I don't like missing either.
Same. I don't listen to TSN anymore.
It’s disgusting what tsn did to Chris.
Disgusting. Sick & Knuckles are all that I’m listening to also.
@@maxrates same!! Those 2 were the reason I tuned into TSN
i AGREE WITH YOU, ALLOT OF THOSE 690 NEWSCASTERS , ARE ALWAYS MAKING REMARKS ABOUT BEING DRUNK OR STONED. ... It almost seems like normal people (guests) are not welcome or abnormal.
Nice to see you this morning Tony.
I agree with David Rowen. I can't miss the sick podcast, or knuckles, both are SICK!!
SICK podcast Tony and Stu is one of the best.....
You and Knuckles for a couple of joint podcast would be sick just saying
Keep up the great shows Tony, they are SICK.
Well done and congrats for your channel tony more then happy we draft slafkovky most will agreed with me
Big thanks for your work and information Tony and Stu have your self a great day
Marinaro Your sick, Like the Sick Podcast. Conitues avec cette belle folie.
SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Keep up the great work Tony
Tony looks cool and young with the Cap. This podcast is Sick !
SICK!!!! Love you man, keep on the great work!!!
Hughes vision in practice; speed, skills, smarts and a healthy culture. The emphasis on hard work and and good coaching in this camp speaks volumes about the future of this franchise. Wright was not present because he didn't fill that last and perhaps most important criterium for winning a cup.
They got a 1st or 2nd line center for a third paring D man in this D core. Enough said. Brilliant
Hey Tony and Stu ..Always fun and Always Sick .by the way Tony that Hat makes you look like you in your late 20s
I kept having an uneasy feeling about Wright. Like him saying he deserved to be #1... why? Slafkosky is ready to go. The pick in the end was a no brainer and the fact that two other teams passed on Wright solidifies that the Habs probably made the better choice.
greg rekounas. yeah he gave me that spoiled little boy vibe as well. we still have to wait for both their development to make a decision but wright strikes me as the spoiled little kid who's had it his own way for a long time. this was his first setback and it wasn't a pretty picture.
To be fair, the reason Jersey passed on him is because a top D man was more valuable to them. Watch Nemec, he will be a stud. Arizona did pass on Wright but Arizona does weird sh*t anyways. Habs picked Slaf because they already made a deal for Doch a week prior. If it wasn't for the Doch deal they would have picked Wright. Hughes is a wizard. He got a 2nd line center which is where Wright would have slotted in and a great winger for Suzuki/Caufield. I'm happy, it moves the rebuild forward quicker. Wright will be great in Seattle just watch. Cheers
If Wright was picking then he would be number one and still would be a mistake the guy is fool of him self .
Wright has a great hockey mind but maybe was bored with it all and maybe he will pick it up.
@@davidmackinnon2968 to be honest i hope they both do well. it would be a shame if wright let this play with his head.
Great show Tony! 👍
Love your youthful crown of hair. Sick!
Sick 🤒!!!!!!!!!!! Great job
18 y/o and all that pressure... In Montreal, we are crazy!
Habs still have some cap issues to get cleaned up in the next few years, Price, Drouin, Petry, Dadanov, Gallagher...are the big ones. Some may require cap retention, hopefully Price and Petry at least can be done soon. Others at the trade deadline.
dont have to trade any of the players you mention.
lol Dadanov not a cap issue going forward, he's only got a year left. Prolly sold at the deadline assuming he plays decently.
drouin, byron, dadonov will be off the books after this season. Petry may be traded soon but I have a feeling the offers won't be too good for Hughes considering what Burns was traded for in Carolina. Our GM will have to lower his expectations or hope Petry plays better this season so he can be dealt for more before next season trade deadline. Price and Gallagher are massive albatross contracts, not very well structured to get offloaded to a poor team struggling to make the cap floor as both of them are not heavily frontloaded. Pacioretty was litterally given for a bag of pucks and he is still a very good player, cap space is the biggest commodity in this league right now where the cap ceiling has not moved a lot since the start of the pandemic. Next to him, Gallagher and Price are damaged goods and not likely to get any better at this point so they have pretty much negative value in my book.
tony you are the best of the best
HAHAH STU that's exactly what I think about when I look at Slafkosky, DRAGO from Rocky... Kid is a beast i love him!
Tony - I have a serious case of Norman Flynn withdrawal. When will 'Ca Va Bien' again??
Nailed it on Romanov
Good to hear they are actually attempting to develop the young players. I would think most 15 year olds know how to cook, but over the years, it appears many don't. Some "alleged" Chicago fans are angry that the Hawks are getting rid of players. They won cups in 10, 13 and 15 because of getting high caliber picks and they probably thinking they can get a player better than Debrincat, so they are in full out tank mode (maybe they think Kane will ask out and Toews is done).
I wonder if Slafkowsy could turn out being a concession player in Montreal?
Maybe not concession player, but very elite.
He reminds me of Mikko Rantanen
And Andrei Svechnikov.
INSANELY good players.
But they are not the cornerstone of the team.
They are the perfect COMPLEMENT to your cornerstone player.
Tony, when are you going to interview the new Habs advanced stats analyst, Christopher Boucher?
I'll be honest, i was 100% with the Wright choice, i just hope Slavkovsky don't turn out like KK, i will trust the management team. And maybe Dack's wrist has not fully healed? Reminds me of Drouin's wrist injury by Ovechkin.
Saw logan wow he has skill
Like the gm but kinda finding it hard to know why he didn't get debrin
Slafsquatch should be his nickname
SLAPSHOTSKY ! 👍
Sick ,sick sick
Question to the experts:
If the canadiens could get kaapo kaako for romanov and picked Shane Wright would the Canadiens be in a better place today
Wright mad Kaako or Slavkovsky and Dach???? Want to get your opinion
Ask again in 4 years.
Its Slafkovský , not wski or what the hell. Hes not polish
Nope. Slafs is MILES ahead of Kakko in terms of both speed AND skill.
Also Shane Wright has deep problems in terms of character.
Great podcast overall.
Just two things for Stu :
1) No, if they didn’t have the trade for Dach, they STILL wouldn’t have picked Shane Wright.
He’s NOT good defensively like people say (he doesn’t even backcheck for crying out loud).
He’s lazy.
And he very much seems like he has
DEEP-ROOTED core issues in terms of personality & character.
2) EVEN IF they had been able somehow to get the #2 OA PICK
As well as the #1 oa pick…
They would have picked
Slafkovsky and LOGAN COOLEY.
NOT Slafs & Wright.
(For the same reasons mentioned above)
SICK
"Chicago won their cup by picking Kane at 1 and Toews at 3...."
... then go ahead and trade their 3rd pick in 2019 for two picks... 13th and 66th.
And they're doing so to tank?
How does that even make sense?
Glad to hear that Stu tempers the discussion by reminding Tony that his boy Drouin for Sergachev was a disaster.
And if next year Habs traded Russian defenceman Kostenko for 3rd overall pick Adam Fantilli (franchise player)…
Would that be the same thing as well?
Every Russian defencemen are the same?
And every 3rd overall are the same?
WTF is this logic
sick it's great
Sick!
Tony when Stu says that Shane Wright would have been his choice. it was like you agreed with him or were you just being respectful . Because when you had the former scout on the podcast saying how Wright's game is full of holes and not nhl ready. You seem to agree with that also saying that he wasn't the right choice for montreal . But I guess time will tell . It was a tough draft to choose from .
The Romanov/Dach deal went down before the draft you can be sure.
whats your problem with Armia? he's a good player, strong on the puck and can stick handle in a phone booth. had a shitty year like everyone last year. i get he's not the fastest skater but he's still a good player. imo
Tony stop saying SlafCOWsky it’s SlafKOVsky
It would’ve been nice to see Wright making quick decisions at this training camp ….
Sic!!!
Sick.
Caufield 5'7 - St-Louis 5'7
Dach 6'4 - Lecavalier 6'4
If that is not quality development/mentorship.. idk what is.
You forgot to add Slaf to the 6'4 list
@@auri5459 slaf is not a center.
About Romanov the expectations was very high by the organization of the Canadiens but in a short period of time with the habs he couldn't reach it. He was supposed to be replacement for Andrei Markov. About Romanov the thing he gets critize the most about is his fundamental play defensively unfortunately and it's very hard to be a very good solid defenseman when the player can't get the fundamentals right at least that's the reality.
I'm disappointed about Pitlick. It's too bad. If the Habs are up against the cap, I understand their decision.
give dach a break,he doesnt NEED to be the #2 center.
overhyping guys is a problem fans should stop doing in habsland.
I swear if he doesn't turn out I'm done with these "experts".
And if Wright becomes what he was deemed to be only a few years ago, I'm becoming a Kraken fan.
I think Wright would’ve flopped in MTL.
And now that he was immensely
SLAPPED IN THE FACE…
MAYBE now he realizes he’s gonna have to actually put in the work, and that not everything will be handed to him on a silver platter.
A lesson he couldn’t have…
Had he been picked 1st by the Habs.
SlafKOWski? He’s not Polish. It’s SLAF-KOV-SKY…you can do it Tony!
Hopefully We don’t regret not picking Shane wright
Is it not possible that the Chicago Black Hawks have payed off the NHL to make sure they get 1st draft pick next year?
Farrell is like Johnny Gaudreau 2.0 !
sick.
Dach wins 30% of his faceoffs.
That's not bad with an injured wrist can't wait to see what he does when it's he's back 100% !!!
bergevin traded a defenceman ( sergachev ) for a troubled forward. the canadiens knew he was a problem but bergevin was so desperate for a french hockey player that he took the chance. i'm trying to picture this team with sergachev in the mix. your team is built down the center, through defense and in goal. patching like bergevin did doesn't work.
He still looked like he had great potential after his last year in Tampa, it wasn’t just because he was French. He was extremely talented too
Stu is really missing the point:
Nicky didnt want a center to compete with him for the 1st spot.
Sickkkkkkkkkkk
Slavsquatch!
Speeds, Smarts & Hockey IQ......soooooo no more Gallagher next year?
Dach was wasted in Chicago, he had his own coach Ducharme to stifle his creativity and talent. St.Louis won't make that mistake.
Vivat duri slafkovsky
Slafsquach like in sasquach
... I wonder if they considered his two brothers are 6'7 and 6'8....what if he pops up another 3 inches..... he could grow...
at best #3D for Romanov? You're better at analyzing food
Wright will have a big chip on his shoulder and that will cause him to try too much with Seattle and will erode his confidence. Once a player who has always been praised as one of the best in the league is called out as a failure at the start that shatters his confidence. He still has a kids mind and that will hurt his career.
Sick
No, Kulak resigned in edmonton. Guhle will replace Romonov. Hopefully Petry does get moved at some point before the season starts. Hopefully a few forwards get traded. Can;t afford Pitlick until a forward or 2 is moved. Pitlick is asking for too much
Wright will be a good second line center. Slavkosky can end up elite beyond expectations. M likes Wright. No doubt. Dach has no wrist shot. It is utterly non existence. And this was before the wrist injury. Expect passing and tuck in goals. The guy is a good north, south skater. Terrible on the faceoff. Really not physical. That's my eye test for 3 years.
KK as the same production in the nhl than Dach, just sayin...
Was Ms Poulin the woman who outskated the nhl players. I know that a lot of the woman players can really skate but I wonder if this was the same woman.
Sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Sick sick sick
Calm down Cowan
Berg never said it’s impossible to trade for a centre. He said it’s impossible to trade for a #1 Center Big difference
Dach is nowhere near a #1
For real. How can anyone think Dach is a 1C like lol. Montreal will be shit this year and finish bottom 10 so hoping we get top 5 pick. Fantilli or Dvorsky is what we still need else we still have a Center problem.
sick
waste management
the only thing that matters is can he play...the est of this bullshit is just bullshit
They’ve made a huge mistake to pass on Shane Wright. When more than 70% of scouts put him first chances to be wrong aren’t high. We would’ve solved the problem at center for the next 10 years it’s a fact with Dach it’s a big big ?
If Devils don’t pick second or 3 rd overall they would’ve picked the Wright guy.
That decision based on 2 tournaments where players don’t know each other’s and a short period of time doesn’t make sens.
Based on that Armia would’ve been a super star in the NHL this year. I’m way more comfortable with someone who’s been on spotlights for more than 3 years, especially a Canadian player who already knows what is all about.
Should have picked, Nemec, Wright, Cooley, before taking Slafkovsky. What a disaster
laffs fan?
Good thing your not a habs scout WOW
