Hi J and A happy anniversary. This is so beautiful, a lot of time went into this surprise, how interesting. That's love! Amazing . Baby looks like dad. God bless you all. Love the Bible texts.
Thank you for your kindness! Yes, it is well to keep love from waxing cold by rekindling the coals of it from time to time. We are so glad you enjoyed the scriptures.
These are all wonderful things you're saying about Angela, but the greatest expression of your love when she is sick is to insist that she remains in bed and cater to her needs. I am close to 60 and I can tell you that a woman cannot keep going and going...pouring and pouring without needing someone to pour back into her. Jesus pours into her spiritually, but the things you can do to assist her everyday, you should do it. Don't let her do everything alone. Some of this comes from her upbringing. Many times women (around the world) are taught to honor a man...and she should, but the man is supposed to love the woman as he loves his own body. Don't let her wear her body out serving without reciprocation. These women are honored to find a husband so they don't want to do anything to mess that up or for him to leave because many of these women have been abandoned and left with children. Please, insist that she allows you to work for her. When we keep pushing our bodies during illness, it makes things worse or can delay our healing.
Well Della, I would say that you must have not noticed that I do, from time to time, help out Angela, especially when there is a need. But it seems you have an unbiblical view of marriage, where the husband and the wife share 50% of all domestic chores. That is simply not God's will! it makes the wife less of a helper, and it makes husband far less effective, to say nothing else. (1 Timothy 5:14). That is also why half of American marriages end in divorce, which is unheard of here in Africa. Here is what older women as yourself should teach younger women: Titus 2:3-5 "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."
