This is how realistic self defense looks like, unpredictable and chaotic
    But good editing

      It was pretty much unpredictable.
Because the scenario was all the time the same but the outcome was every time diffrent.
And it is chaotic... Fighting is not pretty: p

@@MonkeyFist even if you know.place and the fact that an attacker is coming, you cant predict the attack or outcome🙂

In terms of always being ready in self defense scenario sparring, I know I’m subconciously aware, but I try to “forget” in the moment and be almost opposite of alert, eventhough it goes against situational awareness. With the ATM I svanned the environment, but only cuz i always do it in that particular situation

I know what you mean, I am always trying to be not ready too... BUT! just because you know what you are doing (training/playing etc) you are more ready and don't have this big surprise or you are not afraid or nervous etc...
When I am watching some selfdefense videos then guys are like some super ninja/commando who are ready for everything 24/7 hehe. This is why I am not a big fan of it.
But it is fun to do it from time to time just to do something different.

@@MonkeyFist True, it will never be the same as the real deal. Just like sparring in a more combat sports like manner, isn't the same as full contact fighting competitively... but I do think from time to time doing this type of self defense scenario type sparring (especially when there's some intense sparring as there was here at times).... it does help compared to having only done less chaotic sports like sparring. It's not the real deal... but it prepares you more than not doing it, and generally the diversity of sparring experiences helps... but honestly for self defense purposes, I ought to prioritise this type of sparring more, but I'm not solely motivated by self defense. :)
