Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.
Artificial wombs meant for women that can’t bear children themselves are reasonable, but the idea that life wont be a creation of two different humans coming together and the child growing up in a lab instead of a family sounds terrifying
Funny thing is those would be immediately used to boost military in the most inhumane way. As current war shows, you can use feaking WW2 weapon and hold on as long as you have cannon meat. So yeah, those are one of the worst inventions, I can bet my life goverments woudn't miss a chance to use it that way, same as it was in nukes.
It sounds dystopian, but only when looked at in isolation. By the time that artificial wombs might become commonplace, humanoid robots and AGI will at least be close, if not perfected. It sounds crazy, but if AGI is truly as intelligent as a human (and much smarter than a human in many ways), android robots would likely be incredible caregivers, companions and parents if well aligned. Not to mention that if biology can meaningfully extend life expectancy, and additive manufacturing + robotic labour can drive down the relative cost of living, people may choose to adopt. Imagine living to 150 years old - children take 20-25 years to develop. If you were 75, and knew you were only halfway through your life, and you can’t have kids anymore (or maybe biology fixed that too), it would be much more appealing to adopt.
While I want artificial wombs to become a thing , they could have serious consequences. They might lead to the devaluation of human life and create dystopian scenarios. For example, a rich couple might create many children simply to compete with each other, among other possibilities. Of course there needs to be law to regulate that.
@@waltonks8172 #1 prio for any gov is military, that's where more people is better (yes, this didn't change since ww 2 unfortunately), so you can take a wild guess how artificial wombs would be used
Cryptography improvments are theorically very easy by the way. Computing power in quantum computers scales exponentially so as long as the amount of different possibilities for a correct key in cryptography scales more exponentially, there will be no problem. The real problem is the effective implementation or transition of these new protocols.
Vector based encryption is already in use in high security environments. Vector based encryption is not subject to being broken by quantum computers. The real threat from quantum computing is that archived data can be at risk of being broken.
Everyone always talked about the risk of hackers messing with our brains but nobody talks about the companies specifically designing ways to subconsciously control us that we are not even aware of
how come? most of these only have positives, the only ones that can effectively be used for exploitation are AGI and CRISPR. Neuralink isn't even close to scary considering it's not anything new, we've had brainchips since the late 90's
People have always been and will always be scared of the cutting edge of technology… but it always becomes regular and it always will for as long as we exist. I see the value in discussing the risks but unfortunately the rewards are very rarely included in the discussion (and they are often massive, like mRNA vaccines, machine learning etc)
Artificial womb is the biggest game changer of all by far, will literally rewire how basic human connections will work, men will be able to have kids on their own
The babies were born from their mothers and then placed in those capsules so they could grow big and strong, they weren't actually made from the capsules
What about a bunch of tiny Nanites and all you get is an injection like a normal shot, after that and waiting for a bit for them to spread throughout your brain and send a connection signal to a nearby device such as a phone or PC, they are ready to use, by the way they also spread everywhere else in your body and can help with healing and minor tissue repair, depending on the options you chose prior to injection.
4:36 i dont know when this was recorded but there are dozens of companies makitn humanoid robots, the most notable are Tesla, Boston Dynamics, and Figure 1, but there are like 50 chinese companies making humanoid robots.
Neuralink is not the first or most cutting edge brain chip company. Other companies have been doing the same thing (including one started by scientists who quit neuralink). Neuralink gets the most publicity, but the brain chip industry is larger than that!
3:00 well yes, but actually no. There are certain algorithms, that theoretically perform more efficient on quantum computers, but the technical limitations, which lead to high error rates and which are the reason, why we still only have some few thousands qbits in the most high-end quantum computers, are making it really difficult. Also the algorithms currently can’t takt too long, because the qbits decay after a certain amount of time. From what I’ve heard, it is currently way better to simulate quantum computers with their qbits on regular computers to demonstrate the theoretical advantages. We are still very far away from quantum computers living up to the hype.

With these new advancements the possibilities are more than any of us could imagine. It’s gonna be like living in a dream.. or maybe a nightmare
Love how every single thing in this list is interconnected, one thing cannot develop without the development of other
7:47 I could potentially see that this leads to some people owning fleets of autonomous vehicles and then renting them to people who don’t have one. So I guess car rentals would still be a thing.

For you. Hate. Hate.
What is this whole time openai was just making Roko’s basilisk because they dont want to be eternally trapped
@@jmoney4695that would just erase the purpose of humans like completely
While I want artificial wombs to become a thing , they could have serious consequences. They might lead to the devaluation of human life and create dystopian scenarios. For example, a rich couple might create many children simply to compete with each other, among other possibilities. Of course there needs to be law to regulate that.

Cryptography improvments are theorically very easy by the way. Computing power in quantum computers scales exponentially so as long as the amount of different possibilities for a correct key in cryptography scales more exponentially, there will be no problem. The real problem is the effective implementation or transition of these new protocols.
This is literally nightmare fuel
Vector based encryption is already in use in high security environments. Vector based encryption is not subject to being broken by quantum computers.
The real threat from quantum computing is that archived data can be at risk of being broken.
The greatest weapon of mass destruction is the human brain
The white man's brain in particular

The “hivemind neuralink” idea literally sounds like the human instrumentality project 💀💀💀
These all sound incredibly chilling.
how come? most of these only have positives, the only ones that can effectively be used for exploitation are AGI and CRISPR.

Cryptography has already been updated to be quantum-proof.
True.
We are about to go through the biggest transformation in human history.
Artificial womb is the biggest game changer of all by far, will literally rewire how basic human connections will work, men will be able to have kids on their own
Society will be cooked. We do not need this.

Great video. Thoughtful, clearly and succinctly explained. Nice!
Bro, programmers ain't getting eradicated. There are tons of jobs that will disappear before programmers are fully automated. Don't believe what these tech CEOs claim.
Some of these technologies sound very dystopian, but a cyberpunk dystopia is cool AF. When the cybernetics hit the market we're definitely gonna chrome up
Oh man, man made horrors beyond my comprehension? My favorite!!
This video is so straight to the point. I like how it just starts off like: "NEURALINK"
algorithm got me here. it is wise beyond its years. subscribed.
It’s crazy how each of these can both rapidly develop humans or destroy us all
There's a ton more risks and dangers, but this video is great! What a time to live, huh?
Neuralink for medical reasons is a noble endeavour. Anything beyond that is not.
Well, it will happen whether you like it or not. I wish it were forbidden to go further and no one was allowed to improve themselves with the help of technology and force others to do the same, but it will eventually happen.
A lot of stuff in this video I don't really believe in (space soccer, 3D printing cars) but one thing you didn't mention was bionics. I'm fascinated by the rapid growth we're seeing in partial and full amputation bionics.
A perfect world made only to be ruined by human's need for more and dissatisfaction.
I can see how some of these would be useful but the neuralink hive mind thing would drive us insane
A meaningless world where the only reason to be alive is to reproduce and survive, we humans are more than that and that's why we make up new inventions, to evolve.
Solar energy was missing from the list. Third generation solar modules are developing at a stunning rate of progress. I would recommend checking of the video, Solar 3.0.
