I can imagine how Jim McKay and Jackie Stewart would have called the final laps. It would have sounded more excited than that of Allan Bestwick, Scott Goodyear, and Eddie Cheever.
uauaaauuu!! amazing race, one of the most incredible last 5 laps that I've never seen! Thanks Blue Flags! Now I already can say that I'm a big fan of Indycar :)
3:06 The only mistake that Allen Bestwick made during this telecast......which is equal to 1,000 made by Marty Reid during his broadcasting career with ESPN and ABC.
New to Indy/oval racing. Regarding the racing line, why are the cars go to the center of the race track on the straights instead of staying close to the barrier/wall?
I know this is a super late reply but there's no scientific or aerodynamic reason. It's mainly a defensive move in an attempt to make anybody who wants to pass do it on the outside going into the corner as opposed to the inside. Not blocking since it's not a direct reaction to the pass, but it's trying to limit the choices of anyone who might try it. Also, because most people go toward the inside wall, it's far more rubbered in so they get better grip there.
I remember during this race that I just couldn't believe how long it was green from the start just when I started to entertain the stupid idea that this race might go flag to flag green the Indy 500 broke out on lap 150

One of the great finishes in the histories of both the Indianapolis "500" and auto racing in general!
Thank you for uploading these! we dont have Indycar on tv here in Sweden so its awesome to see these!
Thank you Jim Navas 1972~2014 "Back home again in Indiana "
I love the ABC logo

The radio guys did a darn good job. It's synched up to video on the IndyCar highlights video if you want to check it out.
Shane Wofford I love the IMS Radio broadcasts. They are awesome
I'm a NASCAR fan and I watched this to see if Kurt Busch would win it. And I thought that this race was epic

Randy Dubin Yeah, I like Allen Bestwick as a commentator more than I do Marty Reid
Randy Dubin Allen is a breath of fresh air after a decade of Mousy Marty and the drama queen Todd Harris.
Excellent race. Looking forward to May 24 2015
Thx for posting
comment at 1:26 when the announcer says the last time an andretti won a race we put a man on the moon,, thats funny !!!
;
Thanks for uploading. I'd have to subscribe to two things to get indycar in the uk. Great to get it on TH-cam. 👍
Yes! Thank you for uploading this!
What a finish to the race

Will you uplade the two Detroit races?
2019 anyone?
I was surprised where Sage Karam finished. BTW Kurt Busch failed to complete the 1100 mi marathon, had to retire form the Coca-Cola 600.
please post the twin detroit races
when I try to watch, I get the error message. Is the problem on your end, or mine?
fixed it, never mind
Tks again.
I think a caution would come out after the first 130 laps I think 146 laps is the longest green flag run ever in this event
Hopefully they will never install restrictor plates.
thank you Blue Flags
Damn ads getting worse.. TH-cam sucks.
What a race. I have been very anti modern indycar. But that was spectacular
The tides are turning for this once powerhouse of racing in the USA. GO INDYCAR!!

Ed carporton i was hopping you would win sorry your car crashed.
🚗🚘 🚨 🚓 🚑 🚒 🚙
How ridicolous this race became, like the whole mainstream motorsport.
Ugly looking cars
Yeah, the road track version looks way better
Before 1997 years, good looking cars
