Essential Oil for bugspray made by a Floridian: (This is very expensive if you buy it retail. It's much better to get the EOils and cost effective) Lemongrass, Geranium, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Peppermint, camphor, vinegar, water and some rubbing alcohol or vodka, whatever you have. It smells amazing and the mosquitoes and swamp flies hate it.

Hi Becky , Born2Wander2 here . Wow that campground is an Easter Egg for sure ! The one thing I do agree with is the No Alcohol Policy. I indulge from time to time , but this policy alleviates the few who ruin it for everyone. And yes a quick fun fact , did you know that the mosqito is the state bird of FLA. ? 😂.... keep the videos coming , really enjoyed this one . I'm a grill master . So I love your simple setup. Everything tastes better outdoors. That's a fact . Enjoy your journey and thanks for allowing us to tag along . Safe travels 🙏
Here's a hint for your lettuce put the lettuce in the ziplock put a paper towel over the lettuce, put water on the paper towel close the bag and squeeze the air out, your lettuce will last for 2 weeks in the refrigerator. My mom taught me that amazing, miss Mom❤
So funny you said that I do the same thing if we need it and won't go through it for more than 2 days. It does wonders! Also do it berries it helps them stay fresh longer too.

@@Adventureswithbecky I would like to to review collier county camping and then maybe Monroe for Lobster I have always done well the last Wednesday and Thursday of July. Never been a question of getting my limit just if it took more than an hour.
Glad to have you! Yes this summer has been far hotter much earlier in the season. Without AC it is very hard to camp unless near water to cool off during the day.
Good video but I think its pronounced Du Pwee. Check out Hickory Hammocks, free and much better in my opinion. Lavender incense keeps away the mosquitos.
Downside to Hickory is non-flush toilets and no hot water for the showers. Not a big deal in the summer but definitely a deal breaker in the winter lol.
I knew the name sounded familiar. My daughter and I went there for a weekend about 5-6 years ago. It’s a couple of hours away and yes, it’s really nice. And best of all it’s free. We stayed in the group camp ground area.
The faucet is a water saving, they limit the flow of water but also spray really bad. Most of the FL state parks use them. Cool, two hours away from me on the other coast!
Yes this is one of my favorites. 2 things. 1 after you dial the lock code; if it doesn’t open when u pull down; “ push up, like u are locking the padlock, and then pull down to open”. 2. You are limited to 30 days a year cumulative for all campgrounds for water mgmt. U are only 30 minutes to town of Okeechobee. Lastly. The website, and u need to get a permit. How to get it.
The shopping in Okeechobee or WPB is best, the other towns not so much. As a diver I go under Blue Heron Bridge alot and do my food shopping while there.
Thank you very much for the free campground recommendation. Can a 42' Class A diesel pusher make it in there? Do you know if you can run a generator there? Is there hookups or a dump station?
No hookups 42 ft would probably be difficult. Not sure about generators but may be frowned upon if not one of the super quiet ones. Best bet is to go directly to the website for the current rules.
Flotation flotation don't want to drown then you decide you want to live to late get tube or life jacket or wetsuit or boogie board even get from neighbors houses now
Still here and no boogie board or wetsuit needed. When going through hurricanes it is important to remember to listen to your local government for evacuations and to run from water(get off the coast) and hide from the wind in your home which is what we did.
@Adventureswithbecky I'm from South africa we have never had to go through what they did in NC hurricane hellene not even10 percent of magnitude here in 30 years, all the best can't wait to hear that everyone is OK I know what you feel about your home stay strong
If you're ever in the far north western section of the Florida Panhandle and looking for a nice free campground, let me know and I'll give you some information about it and location. It's similar to the one in your video, clean bathrooms with hot showers, potable water, dishwashing area, easy access to a nice creek for swimming and picnicking with two Pavilions with picnic tables, hiking trails etc.
@@Adventureswithbecky I've tried posting the link but TH-cam keeps deleting it for some reason. The camp is in the north eastern section of the Blackwater River Florida State Forest near Baker, FL. It's name is the "Wilderness Landing" Location: 5700 Wilderness Landing Road, Baker, Florida

Stayed there 5 times and met locals who go there every weekend in winter. The summer is brutal without Ac and no generators at night allowed.
Wasn't to bad with fans gping. Didn't have ac just 2 small fans. Key is go to the water during the day and stay hydrated😊

You're welcome glad the video helped you find another great spot to visit.
Wow that campground is beautiful! I am surprised at how big those sites are. Crazy this place is free. Hopefully people who visit keep it clean.
The bad apples always ruin it with leaving trash.
Been there several times. Florida Water Management rocks! My favorite is Allapattah Flats, also in Martin County.
Will have to check that one out!
There are free WMA's all over florida a review on each would be a cool TH-cam goal. VERY COOL VIDEO
Will be adding more not only in FL but throughout the lower 48 as well.
