I lost my grandfather to cancer when I was in middle school. I was way too young to process those feelings back then. Then, I heard the original version of this song, and it finally helped me to process the feelings that I couldn’t otherwise. This cover absolutely does the original song justice.
Goodness me, I keep looping from 2:02 to the end for a while now. True eargasm, especially with a headphone and rainy night in a dark room. I get the sense of sadness, frustration, and deep sorrow that somehow felt like embalmed in regret of not doing things better when you're alive. What a great cover. 👏 👏
