Hi friends. I have been fortunate to visit and stay in Honfleur twice. It is really beautiful; thanks for the tour. I agree it is probably a bit too touristique but, hey-ho. If you have chance next time, my I recommend the musée Maisons Satie which is fun and full of surprises.
Thank you for the recommendation. We think we might go back there sometime in the future, but when it’s very warm, just so we can experience it differently. It really is a beautiful place.
Salut Anton & Sinan! There is no way not to like this episode. Simple as that. In fact,I love it,not like it. Very interesting place. I like the vibe . And the weather suits perfectly. Love the architecture. Interesting region. Now it's getting grey and colder step by step, but when the place is beautiful, even such weather looks charming. Love the cooking part in the end. I agree about the cheese. You should have show the end result. But I am sure ot was delicious. I was awaiting any second Sinan to pop up and get into cooking action,but.... it's ok. Still patient here. One day maybe 🤭 Keep exploring and showing us guys. It's a pleasure to watch you! 🤍👍🏻✨️ Merci
Salut! Hah, Sinan can make really good eggs with cheese and pepper, but he refuses to cook anything else. Although occasionally he prepares rice very well. One day maybe we will catch him cooking on camera 😂😂 there is hope. And thank you, more places are coming up! We have visited A LOT this past month, so it’s all in the queue 😊
@@AntonandSinan 😄 There is always hope. Menemen he is making well? I assume yes. That's great. You already look super relaxed and skillful with cooking,Anton. I can't wait to see the other places and explore with you. Stay well! 🌞🍀🤍
He does not cook Menemen! But I've learnt how to make it and now prepare it very well. And Sinan def loves to judge how I make it. So far, it's been a success 🤣
@@AntonandSinan You are a master then,if so far success! Bravo. Because they can judge quite hard 😄 Can't wait for the next episode. That hint you gave.. give a little more pls. Don't be stingy Lol
Oh, what a pity you arrived on a day when the weather was dreadful ! Honfleur is so beautiful when the sun shines ! You compare it to Etretat, but I don't agree : Etretat is pretty, but it's very small, and apart from the famous cliffs and two or three interesting buildings, it doesn't take long to get round it. In Honfleur, however, there's a lot to explore, as you've realised. And Honfleur has played a major role in the history of France and England, as well as in the history of art. Today, Honfleur capitalises heavily on its Impressionist roots : Claude Monet's mentor, Eugène Boudin, was born there, and Monet and his contemporaries often set up their easels at the Ferme Saint-Siméon on the hill above Honfleur, to capture the light of the estuary. In summer, there are a lot (too many) tourists (many of them British)... but at least it's warm ! 🙂
We should definitely come back there when it's warmer, but you know, even in that weather, the whole place looked beautiful. In general, architecture in France is so beautiful even the worst of rains can't spoil it.
@@AntonandSinan Oh yes, I know! That's precisely why I left Paris a long time ago to come and live in Normandy. Well, there was a price to pay: for almost fifteen years, I travelled back and forth EVERY DAY to work at my publishing company, which was hell because the train on that line is totally unreliable (constant technical problems, strikes all the time, etc). But every evening, when I came back, I told myself that it was the best choice I'd ever made. I've found a real Art de Vivre here that Paris never gave me. My three favourite regions in France are Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley. It's always a great pleasure to follow your adventures and discoveries !
Oh, it must've been difficult to commute like that! You know what's bizarre, perhaps it's even a little cliché on my part (Anton here), but I LOVE the architecture in Paris (excluding the new stuff that they have been building lately, of course), with all its drawbacks and all. It's just the perfect city for me when it comes to visual beauty. I don't know how else to explain it, but I feel super comfortable in Paris, even on the nastiest of days, I still feel like it's all worth it. However, we have been seriously considering spending more time in Versailles lately. As for the regions, we love Normandie, Loire and PACA. Haven't explored much of Bretagne, so cannot comment on it just yet! It's on our list! And thank you for following our adventures!
@@AntonandSinan Oh, but don't get me wrong! I also think that the architecture of Paris is absolutely amazing! That's not the point. But there is a difference between visiting and living there for a long time and doing a stressful job. I find that Paris is a very noisy city, often polluted, housing is terribly expensive, and above all increasingly unsafe. One of my colleagues was even attacked one evening by a drug addict as she was leaving the office (rue de Rivoli, right next to the Louvre). There are also very few parks, trees and greenery (unlike London, where I lived for years). Obviously, it's different for everyone, but for me, it was really tiring. Time passed, I was no longer so young, and I was tired of paying more than 900 euros for a tiny apartment whose windows opened onto a sunless courtyard, I knew that it would forever be impossible for me to become a homeowner, you have to be almost a millionaire to buy a decent apartment in Paris. At the time, I was a very well-known journalist in my field, I had a very intense professional social life in Paris, and my relations never understood why I wanted to go and live elsewhere. In fact, that's because there is a lot of snobbery in the world of culture. Anyway, I'm boring you now, I'm not going to tell you my whole life story here publicly !... (Serge) 🙂
Same thing happened to me in the bus. Some people were sooo smelly! It's incredible, smelling of sweat, onion and used clothes and have no awareness...

It can quickly get uncomfortable when such situations happen. 😂
