I was digging around on the PTR website and under usage they say "Apply this clear SPF liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every 2 hours or after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating. For external use only." So maybe we can take that to mean it is water resistant for 40 minutes.
Thanks for the reviews, Dana! I am a fan of the Supergoop unseen because of its matte finish..I hate glowy sunscreens so much! It's still not my ideal sunscreen, but because of its finish, it's one of the best I have tried. I totally get the "sits on my skin" thing..I'll need to try it as you do, on top of a moisturizer and rubbing it really well. They also have a jumbo size of it on the website. I was hoping the Trader Joe's dupe (came out in the summer) would work just as well (waaay cheaper), but unfortunately it pills under a mask and eventually stings my eyes.
Thanks for watching! I just got the Trader Joe's dupe and it's not QUITE the same but I've enjoyed it so far. That sucks that it's stung your eyes though. I'm lucky that it hasn't stung mine yet.
Just found you today when researching the Shiseido sunscreen. I got a sample during the Sephora sale and I wasn't sure what was going on with the texture. Watched your review and honestly I love it after having watched your review. Thank you for that. I'm subscribed.
Very helpful thank you! I have been working my way through the Black Girl sunscreen original but it’s so shiny that I was curious about the matte version. Now I’m thinking it won’t be right for my skin type. Thanks for your insight on it!
I am wondering if I can use PTR Max Clear on top of my tinted sunscreen as a matte primer. I don’t like glowly or shiny face. Would that work? What do you think?
If you want a euro version, try the SVR Extreme Ultra Matte Gel. It’s basically the Supergoop Unseen but with the good European filters 😍
OMG that sounds divine😍adding to cart now.🛒🛍️ lol
For a European dupe of Unseen Sunscreen, check out Frezyderm Velvet Sunscreen. It's extremely similar in texture but has a better UVA filter.
Awesome!!! Thanks so much-will check it out

Typically it’s not recommended to mix chemical and mineral, but layering might be ok. It’s up to you, I suppose
ULTA says PTR is water resistant
Thanks!
