As a teenager when they burst onto the scene looking for an alternative to disco to party and dance to this was epic to us. It was just FUN to have dancing for 7 minutes

You hit the nail on the head with these guys. I highly recommend a deep dive to get a feel for just how talented this band is. All you have to decide is do you want some more kooky, quirky B-52s first, or do you want to check out the more mature and mainstream Bs? These guys are well known as one of the greatest party bands ever. I saw them live many times and it was always a hell of an experience.

This was a fun song to dance to on the dance floor at a club. Everyone would start doing the same moves and then go wild at the end.

B52s came of age in the dance clubs in the 70's they were all about dance and fun. When this song came on in the dance clubs it was pandemonium. Check out "Give me back my man" by them

As a wedding/party DJ starting in 79 and through 80s and 90s ... Yes a must play at most wedding receptions. Especially when enough alcohol had been imbibed 🎉

This was a dance song during the early 1980's and did fairly well on the charts given its "assumed" simplicity. This song came about from one of the band members being at the beach and finding a rock lobster, yes these creatures are real and are commonly called crayfish, which look like miniature lobsters that hide under rocks for protection. So they made a fun beach song out of it. I also like their song called "Planet Clair" and shouldn't be taken seriously either but fun and interesting to watch in their official video.

The thing was…even 10 years after this came out when I was in high school and then college, when this song came on, EVERYONE was on the dance floor. It was such a fun tune.

One of the greatest pop tunes ever and funny you mentioned the Beatles as when John Lennon first heard it he was inspired to get back into the studio and write music again after not doing anything for several years so it is responsible for us having his last studio album

Everytime I see somebody react to this, I can't help but wonder how many young folk know what a bikini whale is?

There is a deeper meaning to this song, but you'll have to go to the bottom of the ocean to find it...
