Delta Green is my favourite incarnation of my favourite RPG...personally I still play it like it’s set in the 90s, DG is basically The X-Files the game 🤣

"The Gradual Introduction of Entropy and Rot : A(n Alternative) History of Our Times"... kinda says it all!

This is too spooky, I've just had he Handler's guide delivered, after months of trying to order a copy here in the UK (thanks Leisure Games). Are the stars...

Great to see more and more content from you, Kurt. You got me into Savage Worlds, helped reignite my passion for RPGs back in the day after 4th edition nearly snuffed it out. Been watching for years. No matter if you make 1 video a year, a month, a week, whatever, I'll keep on watching. You rock friend. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only who's love for pen and paper RPGs was nearly killed by 4th edition

@@bubbathedm 4th edition was my first experience with TTRPGs. When I reluctantly tried again with a new group, playing 3.5, I remember saying "Wait... You mean I can be a fighter who doesn't have spells?"

Listening to this I really hope he gets a chance to run a Delta Green campaign! It sounds like he’s got lots of adventure hooks and NPCs ready to go.

I have really missed the DEEP dives into large conspiracies and cults in the newer books. It seems like all the big groups are gone, the Fate, the Cult of Transcendence, I want a 20 page breakdown with a large cast of characters!

The Labyrinth is pretty good. I'm waiting on Impossible Landscapes in print, Deep State, Falling Towers and PISCES to fill out the post-90s timeline with more in-depth threats.

@@TomVCunningham I read it, but it just didn't pull me in like Targets of Opportunity or Countdown. I could use it, but it didn't make me want to reread the section multiple times.

@@jfridy I will admit, they haven't been able to create as memorable threats as in the DG-CoC sourcebooks. But I'm still looking forward to the upcoming volumes.

Long time fan Kurt. Majestic-12/M-EPIC and PISCES are getting their own books as part of the 2016 Kickstarter (we're still waiting on them)

Thanks for the good review, sir. And yes, I clearly f'ed up nuking the Karotechia out of the latest edition. Who knew these losers would be making a come back in the real world?

I prefer the DriveThruRPG print-on-demand version of the original Delta Green. Also, I feel that this game is best when it takes place in the 90's.
Also, Neo Yahtzee (because TH-cam apparently hates the real word) groups are popping up? Where? When?

Do you often just buy RPG books to read the fluff without so much intention to play? I feel like thats been like 90% of my RPG book purchase.

    • @Skullkan6

The dark Secret of the RPG industry is that GM's end up buying so, so many books for systems they'll never run.
I just dropped $5 on a game called "Darkly Through the Labyrinth" which is an explicitly non-supernatural game about human evil, playing the FBI during the Satanic Panic hunting down serial killers....
That being said it's rather mediocre/not exactly all that good and my only potential use for it is as a backup game in case someone doesn't show up.

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Delta Green does require a certain maturity to make it work, that’s not to say you can’t joke at the table, but if you aren’t approaching the setting as if it’s grim then it doesn’t carry weight (similar to Coriolis or Kult)

    • @jfridy

I'm on the other side. I'm the one who will run Cthulhu and Delta Green, but I never get to play it.
