  • Teaching CAM - TITAN teaches you how to program the TITAN-1M which is the first part in our Advanced 3 Axis Teaching Series called "BUILDING BLOCKS".
This is a great video for everyone to watch as it explains many of the small details needed as a programmer. Just follow along and you will see how EASY programming can be.
We don't expect you to be a expert from watching this video, but if you follow along and do exactly what Titan does... You will have success. Then it's just a matter of putting the work in and through repetition, you will gain in skill and eventually be able to design and program anything :-)
You can download FUSION 360 for FREE as a Student or Hobbyist by going to our Resources Drop Down.
You can find this Project and more with all related documentation under the Education Drop Down... then going into Building Blocks.
You can also join an Academy Small Group also under resources... Which will allow you an opportunity to run your program on an actual CNC Machine... and be around a community of makers.
Revolutionary CNC Education all available for FREE. Learn to become a CNC Machinist or a CNC Programmer through our advanced training Academy, TODAY! Access hundreds of CAD models, prints and video tutorials at the click of a button.

That was my first look at cam software programming. Thanks for the great video and the clear explanations! 👍

14:17 you can actually make an expression so you dont have to calculate it yourself by using this:
    tool_diameter/2+tool_diameter/10
so it will calculate half the tool diameter and add 1/10 of the tool diameter

    Hi Titan,
First, many thanks for all you have done to generate interest, especially to new comers into the CNC world. I have been subscribed to your channel since the beginning and really enjoy your videos.
I have a 2007 HAAS TM-1P which I have owned since it was new and it has been a wonderful machine for a hobbyist such as myself to make parts/tools for R/C aircraft related items as well as Fishing Kayak items. I am kind of a self taught guy learning from experts like yourself that are willing to share their extensive knowledge. At the age of 71 the last 10 years have been very rewarding learning process. At the age of 61 I didn't even know what CNC stood for. Ha Ha
Up until now I have used another CAD/CAM product but have taken an interest in Fusion 360 and watched a lot of videos on the subject.
One of the big mysteries in Fusion 360 for me was assigning tool numbers from the tool library based on how they are loaded in the tool changer. I would seem to me that you setup (i.e. set the offsets for each tool) and load the tools for each individual job.
I have a 10 position tool changer on my HAAS. I have certain tools that I tend to use a lot and leave them loaded in the tool changer. i.e. position 10 tool probe, positions 3 & 4 for various end mills, positions 2 & 9 for drills, position 7 for taps etc. My first part I programmed in Fusion 360 that I actually cut was a part that had to be machined on 4 faces. I made one sketch of the part in the model screen and then in the CAM screen I made 4 different setups, one to do the machining on each face. Of course, I had to reset the datum for each face and also re- probe the part each time the part was rotated in the vice. I had to change a few tools in the tool changer for some of the operations. This resulted in having multiple tools in the library with the same tool number on them. I just had to be careful that the correct tool was loaded in the correct tool changer position.
Maybe, a good lesson for us novices would be to make a video on the tool library and how it relates to tool changer positions. It tool me quite a while to figure out where to edit the actual tool number. It turns out that the tool number was located in the (Post Processor) tab in the tool library. Once I found that all was good.
Thanks again for all you do for the CNC community.
    John

Another great video from Titan. Really learning a lot from these tutorial videos especially since I am trying to setup and create a leaner and optimised working environment within our educational institute for our learners.

    Please help me.

When finishing the contours on the 2D pockets the software on my unit doesn't want to link the 2 chains together, and trying to build them in seperate tool paths it doesnt like after stating "there is no link" and cannot plunge outside of stock. can anyone help with this?

Is there a reason for using down milling instead of up milling here?

Why in mill face operation don't take in account an offset in Top Height option?

First time using cam, I'm having issues on the roughing cycle, the endmill will helical down on the left side of the pocket and leave a chunk of material in the back left corner of the pocket, mills out the rest, retracts up, rapids back to the left and then mills out the last chunk, any ideas on why? I'm using fusion 360 - Personal

Caught an error. At 16:55, Titan says “three quarter”, but should be “three eighths”. Minor nit.
