What a movie. Rishi was amazing. If there was best negative award back then Simi would’ve won it. She was so good. Also credit to Pran, Raj kiran, and the old mom. It was only a semi hit back then because the “qurbani” wave came a week later. The songs are timeless 😅

The movie in old times had a theme..hero character was truly heroic..songs were linked to the movie script..karz would have been a block buster if released again today..
Unlike several other movies directed by Subhash Ghai; which I honestly perceive as rough, male- or higher-class-dominated and too intense and dramatic (these include Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, etc.); I see the tone of Karz as decent, stable, stylish, reasonable and equally-balanced; meaning it's neither male- nor female-dominated. Almost every element shown here is equally and steadily portrayed, and these are the movies I prefer. Pardes is another one of these examples and another one of Subhash Ghai's films with a similar tone and equal portrayal.
This movie contains 2 extremely difficult songs - Ek Haseena Thi and Paisa yeh Paisa. Both were sung with such ease and brilliance. All songs were fantastic in this movie, but these 2 were probably the toughest.
KARZ :- melodious evergreen songs, thrilling screenplay, awesome casting and acting.. remembering old childhood days when I used to wait to watch such movies on weekend but now available for free on youtube
