- I love to resell ties on ebay. Ties are cheap to acquire, don't take up much space and they are easy and cheap to list. The knock is they are slow movers.
While that's true, there are plenty of quick flips too, and I've got a good many in this video. Most of my ties comes from bulk buying, but I do cherry pick ties when I'm out thrifting as well.

How do you ship them? box , envelope, rolled, folded?
I store them folded in clear poly bags and ship in a 6x9 bubble mailer. Don't really need the extra padding but they are the perfect size. Doing it that way a single tie is always under 4oz. If I sell something really high dollar, I'll send it in a box.

Do you wash ties before selling? Because they have this "thrift store" smell?
I don’t know of a way to wash silk ties other than possibly getting them dry cleaned. I usually don’t find odor to be a problem-perhaps they don’t get the same disinfectant spray as most clothing. I have had ties that just smell old or musty from bulk purchases. If there was an issue like that I would try to avoid buying the tie.

If you’re talking about thrifting, you need to learn how to comp items and calculate sell through rate on your phone. I have videos that break it down. If you’re talking about wholesale, then I’m not your guy.

Set price with free shipping. Usually run a public coupon for 10 or 15% off and send out offers every morning.
