Chrono Trigger is an RPG with time travel as a setting. Fleeing from castle guards in their home time of 1000 AD, these three travelers end up in a ruined world that happens to be their own some 1300 years in the future. Fighting past robot security on the behalf of some survivors, they discover what destroyed the world in the year 1999...
