As a photog who covers mainly gigs, brick walls do my head in and the first impression is that you're following a norm. I like to see some originality and something thats unique to the band. Also when doing live gigs, I don't mind hard single lights but do not expect me to make some amazing photo out of it but yes, the edit is important.

so this question is not relevant to this video, but is contacting local bands directly through Instagram DMs a good way to possibly get more gigs and general connections? Or is this seen as unprofessional? I've heard that going to gigs and talking to the local bands face to face is best, but is this another good way to make connections?

just try it. I have a few bands around me so i never would have to use Instagram but i think there's no reason not to try it that way. Maybe write them a mail?

Quick question to anybody reading this:
Are studio bands anything relevant. My friend and I have begun recording originals and we've been using his recording equipment. Would people actually care about a band that never performs live and just broadcasts their stuff on the internet?

Great vid. How long should my band wait between releasing singles?

If you have them ready and recorded, release them as soon as you have assets (artwork, music video, marketing material). Then setup a 6 week plan where at the end the single is released!

Or, if you mean between singles, anywhere from 8 weeks+ is pretty alright! Just keep the buzz going on social media!
