    Thank you for making this video tutorial for the DCS F-16C covering the effective employment of the ACM modes of the radar, the dogfight switch, and the HMCS as they used with the AIM9X short-range AA missiles.

    I have finally worked myself through to this lesson after taking a break to spend more time with my hot new crush, the Apache. Coming back to my wifu, the Viper however, I find myself in love with this beautiful bird of prey and the more I learn the more I am baffled by its capabilities. Thank you once more for the awesome first rate tutorials, Deephack!

    I just started to wrap my head around the Viper and your tutorial videos have been invaluable. But this one, in particular, was so, so good. Thanks so much for doing these.

    This was such a great tutorial, very down to earth, which makes it easy for a newbie to understand

    Okay im too stupid to understand anything, But is there a Way to make the a-a missiles lock on a target automatically instead of ylu having to go to the mfd and track it manually

    Thank you! In the end, is better to enter a dogfight with SLAVE or BORE mode for HMCS use?
    If you clearly see the bandit I believe it's almost the same (though radar has reduced gimbal). If you lose sight of the bandit, maybe it's better to leave radar in vertical scan and look around in BORE mode?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you, if you know where the bandit is then use your cueing system. If you don't then leave the radar in a vertical scan and fly in a circle :-)

    I'm finding that the oval doesn't appear when i turn my head to designate in HMCS... If i press TMS Fwd, the oval appears momentarily with a No Rad indicator. Any idea where i'm going wrong?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There have been some revisions to this in later patches and you may find that you now need to press TMS up long but I haven't tested yet. If needed I can revise this video.

      @@deephack I saw something about this on the intro to the November update. Hopefully it'll sort it for me. I tested some more and it seems to be a Hud symbology issue rather than the actual radar acquisition.

    A question, in bore sight mode with hmcs, do you move your radar antenna with your head movement? I thought the radar looked straight forward?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's correct, you are slewing the radar scan using your head. It does of course have a fairly limited gimbal limit. Something like 60 degrees.

    whats the difference between quiet and silent?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume you are referencing the RF switch. Quiet will retain radar, TACAN and datalink but all other emissions are off. In silent everything is off including radar, TACAN and datalink. Used for emissions control in hostile environments.

    • @deephack
      @deephack  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't have to but it will increase the angle at which the missile seeker will retain the lock.

    When are the NATO planes going to get some long range missiles? Not counting the AIM-54’s.

    • @deephack
      @deephack  ปีที่แล้ว

      Meteor is currently in service with Typhoon, Gripen E and Rafale. There is also AMRAAM D which has a longer range.

      The master arm switch is on the left side of the cockpit just left of the left MFD.
