I just got the new top handle 540iXP with two BLi200 batts in the USA and it performs as well or better than my gas/petrol top handle T540 and so much less noise, no cranky starting and no fumes. Cuts like a demon and with two batts was able to cut into rounds about 10 long logs 8" to 16" in 40 min, a lot of rounds! Not what a top handle is made for but it does it. The rear handle has more leverage than the top handle, which is why it might seem to cut faster, but specs say they have the same motor and chain. If you cut with the top handle like a man! ;) it rips! Amazing saw and you can use it in the rain.
That's great to hear Clif. Like you say they are both super impressive saws and have lots of benefits like the noise and no fumes. Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
Some questions. Botn the T 535 and T 550 have the same chain and no difference. In the 535 vs 540 test the 540 have the x-chain/bar setup and the 535 have the old version chain. Maybe you should test it again with the same chain setup? The 535 also comes with the x-chain now days.
How much of the difference is down to the pro bar and chain on the 40? Are the motors the same in the 35 & 40 ? Running the 14” or 16” bar make a difference? I’m asking as i am teetering on the edge of getting the 40 16” option
how long do you think the longevity is compared to petrol? i'm concerned about warranty and out of warranty problems. i'm not sure what kind of repairs if any can be done on electric motors.
@@cyuiyuwyguiyui it's dangerous if you're in an unventilated space, normally gas saws are used outdoors. But I do understand your point carbon monoxide is deadly.
Just started to get into the battery arena. I was wondering if the maintenance cost of electric, which I do t know what would be. The cost of carburettors and other gas problems , are expensive. I have a 535iXP that I bought new and it has bee a TERD since day 1. I can only make a few cuts (always less than 10) and then it flashes the overheat signal and won't work again for 20 mins or so. Does not matter if it's summer or winter. Brought it to a dealer when it was still under warranty and they blamed the battery, not the saw. Took them almost a YEAR to get me a new battery (factory back order) now I am out of the warranty period, and the saw still won't do more than 10 cuts. Friend has one and his works great. Swap his battery for mine and his saw is still good and mine sucks. Husqvarna customer support won't help! They just refer me to a dealer. Dealer won't help because its out of warranty. Bought this new and have literally made less than 100 cuts with it. Total junk and even a "PRO" saw like this is no good and si I wasted a ton of money and Husq won't stand behind their product. Buyer Beware. By the way, I have a lot of other Husq equipment that has done well for me but this was a total waste. First time I splurged on Pro and just got hosed.

This is something we may do in the future! Keep your eyes peeled!

What are these saws like on hardwood
Can the 540 b fitted with a 24" bar n cut big timber ???
No defo not. You will have to wait a bit longer for large battery saws 👍🏼
I am impressed by the clear difference between the 535i and the 540i!!
Yeah, we were quite impressed as well!

It looks like the t540 isn’t reving right. Maybe it is stuck on eco mode. The differents is much bigger compering the older one.
The t540 was on the normal mode, but we may test these again in the future.
what stand the T for? Whats the diffence between the nomrmal 535i XP and the T535i XP
Turbo.. I’m kidding, the T is for Top Handle 👍🏼
Thanks you Josh and ryan
No worries, we enjoyed it 👍🏼
So the run time was about 12 minutes with all the stacking and resting in between.
Saws time are measured in how many cuts vs time.
As you could see in the video that was 360 cut in about 40 mins. It’s not to be sniffed at 👍🏼
Were both chains the same? I don't recall a statement about that
We will add this into the description. Thanks for mentioning it, but yes both saws had the same chain.
Did the 540 use the new 200x battery?
Not in this video.
Super tare, 540i xp e mai puternică decât 535i xp. . . ! 👍👍👍💪💪💪🙋
Thank you! Glad you liked the video! Super impressive saw as you say!
Will you review the new 2023 T542i xp that’s just come out?
🤞🏼 hopefully we will see it soon 👍🏼
Is the 540 much heavier then the 535 ???
Great saws, but I love the smell of a wide open gas/oil burner!
Great point!
That smell is dangerous to the body..
@@cyuiyuwyguiyui it's dangerous if you're in an unventilated space, normally gas saws are used outdoors. But I do understand your point carbon monoxide is deadly.
What? The most awful smell, definitely prefer to smell cut wood rather than toxic gas!
I'm curious if the chain oil lasts that long or not? No oil will work a saw on its own, let alone cut wood
Do you mean does a full tank of chain oil last the duration of one battery? If so yes, in this test it used about 2/3 of a tank.
Love that everyone is decked out in STIHL gear
Is that the 300 or 300s battery?
It's the 300.

540iXP of course👍😅, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!

Very good videos boys
Thanks 👍
From your video it sounds like the 540i XP is more powerful than the T540i XP. Is it correct?
You’re right, the video does to portray this to be the case but they are pretty identical 👍🏼
@@MachineryNation can you tell me how long does the T540i XP takes to cut the 12 inch wood where the 540i XP takes 8-10 sec?
Did the T540XP have the Bli200X battery?
Supposedly the X battery gives the new 540’s more oomph
BLI300 ?
Yes sir 👍🏼
Josh is the winner
Always a winner 👍🏼
Groovy
Thanks!
