An awesome amp, when it works! My lonestar special has had multiple failures, to the point that I can't rely on it. It's broken now, won't turn on! And while many of the repairs were covered by warranty, this thing is like transporting a small horse... I would dare say it weighs more than 75 lbs.! By the way, great demo.
There are a few versions of these amps. Mine is the smallest with one 12" in the smaller cabinet. Mesa says it weighs 68 pounds. (But it's like moving a safe!) Mine has good casters on it so it is not bad.
I quite like the Stiletto ACE for this.. no reverb, but I love the cleans and it can get into really nice gain on the 2nd channel, if you want it to.. not many people notice this amp
@studiobuddy Yes, pretty much in terms of quality and tonal range. but for warmer-blues styles, the Lonestar has it pretty much covered. It's a great blues/rock amp. If you need a good high gain sound thrown into the mix - then you need a Mark V to cover pretty much everything you'd ever need.
I have recorded this amp lots of times. It is as quiet as can be expected from a guitar amp. Hum is also low. I think this is a fine recording amp. I am very happy with mine.
@clondan1 The best distortion pedal I have heard is the Zvex Box of Rock. About as close to true tube gain as possible to my ears. And I'll definitely check out that bass amp, sounds awesome!
@feo130 Yeah, the amp isn't really aimed at full tilt gain really. The best all-rounder is the MK V combo which has great cleans, BEAUTIFUL reverb for each channel and gain tones which will take out the double glazing, your neighbours and set off car alarms when cranked.
@studiobuddy They are nice, but much more focused around a clean to back up a hard rock amp. The Mark V has a range of clean tones that can do blues, country etc etc - much more versatile.
First let me say, THANK YOU! I've been sitting here for hours trying to find a clean sounding demo of a quality amp and my brother, you did it! You played lix that I relate to and made it work! Great demo! Now, a friendly suggestion, ok? You spoke so fast at the beginning that I think you said "Hi this is Richard here from....rtm in Sheffield.- I listened 6 times to catch it. I'm a Southerner (Yank) and I'm not accustomed to hearing "The President's English" fired at me like a machine gun.
Difficult to render reality on youtube unfortunately. I saw it one day on stage. The sound was realy addictive. Since I saw this Lonestar mesa it's difficult to have it out of mind. It was the perfect blues Crunch. Prize indeed is a show stopper but...
Why is it that nobody ever demos a good dirty rhythm sound. It's either clean or soloing. Somebody please chunk a fucking chord! Expose that these amps sound woofy when you lay down a rhythm.
@feo130 /watch?v=XMuiPl_RYnU, this is one of the pedals im talking about, ridiculously awesome but they for for between 300-500 for the pedal alone lmao
@clondan1 Yes, but pedals suck haha. I like OD pedals to boost an already driven amp, but I absolutely HATE distortion pedals. Tube amp gain is unbeatable, IMO.
@feo130 eh, most mainstream OD pedals suck but there are a few nice ones, check out pedalgeek(dot)com, they have a ridiculous section of pedals and dont worry i know tubes kick ass, i actually came across second hand an old Gibson explorer bass amp, you have to crank it like a motherfucker til the house shakes but its the best tone i get from my strat with that
I own a Lonestar Special with 1x12. This demo doesn't sound that good, probably due to a cheap on-camera microphone. Put a real mic on that amp and it will sound 1000% better. Seriously.
this amp is a work of art absolutely beautiful tone
I have this amp. Takes some time tweaking to dial in your tone but once you get it, it's beautiful.
Dude. You’re a sick player mate.
Aw - thanks for the comment mate.

Vintage sounds are really king
Great tone!

Hermoso amplificador! Ya estoy a medio camino de poseer uno. Gran sonido!

das ist the best mesa model
where is the reverb coming from, just the room?
I wish they had a 4x10 model

Yes they do

Damn!!! Nice amp
@feo130 you could always get some pedals lol

that's the point
Demo recorded loop is ON?
I want this amp.
It's my dream
I love this amp, but I heard it's 75lbs!!! Is that true?

Clean is very good ^^ but the gain isn't suitable
@feo130 /watch?v=XMuiPl_RYnU, this is one of the pedals im talking about, ridiculously awesome but they for for between 300-500 for the pedal alone lmao
i have one...... mesa rules
Bogner Alchemits 112 more warm sound isn't?...thank you....
Awesome clean, but not high-gain enough for me :(
@clondan1 Yes, but pedals suck haha. I like OD pedals to boost an already driven amp, but I absolutely HATE distortion pedals. Tube amp gain is unbeatable, IMO.
LE son ...Que tout guitariste averti aimerait avoir, p..., faut toucher le tiercé dans l'ordre !!!

The peavey classic I have has a better drive channel than the lonestar at half the cost!
Marathonmarch Dude just stop! Dont try and compare your crap peavey to a mesa just because you cant afford it.
uhhh,no
Noooooooooooo way Broseph.
