    I’m just now gearing up to try my luck at catfishing. Normally I fish for striper, hybrids and smallmouth. I definitely enjoy trolling more than anything. Just curious if you are dragging on ledges in this video and if so, is that your favorite structure for this type of fishing?

    • @glennscatfishing
      @glennscatfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Terry I do like dragging the ledges when the fish seem to be in the deeper water. I run 2 sets of planers now to get a bigger spread. I really like trying to drag the middle of the ledge that way one side of the boat is dragging deeper and the other dragging more towards the the shallower side of the ledge. Also dragging the large flats does well for me at times. I hope that helps you some if you have any more questions fill free to ask and thanks for watching!!!

    Me and my son just started trying to drag on the back of our kayaks and they get hung up pretty often even down in 25 feet of water. Is that just the nature of the beast? We’ll probably get hung up every 10 minutes or so, then have to backtrack and untangle. Is that just the nature of the beast?

    • @glennscatfishing
      @glennscatfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey JW you will get hung up at times but if you’re using drifting weights like drifting sticks or other ones made for drifting they will hang but if you just keep pulling they will come loose. All lakes are different but there’s days I can drag all day and not loose a rig and other days I’ve lost several. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    What exactly do the planer boards do? And how far back do you drag them

    • @glennscatfishing
      @glennscatfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Larry they spread your lines out away from the boat when you’re dragging baits. You can use 2 or 3 on each side of the boat to get your baits spread out covering more water. I run 1 set out about 50 yards and 1 at about 25 yards behind the boat on each side. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
