- If you're just starting out playing hockey, you might not know how to get your gear on. Rather than try to figure it out on your own, check out this video for my method of getting my gear on!

I enjoy skating and have recently began Adult Hockey as well. It 's better than any other sport.
I love to ice skate and I will be starting to do ice hockey next year So this will really help me in the future

1Drastic, you do need a mouth guard actually. If you get rocked, then you’re teeth can fly out, because they would have a different notion, than the rest of the body, and if you get hit in the face with a slap shot, the impact could shatter your teeth. That’s why you should always have a mouth guard. Even if you wear a cage or fishbowl.
NNGaming you can really lose teeth if you don’t wear a mouth guard with a cage helmet ??
Paul Jorge, yeah you actually could. It’s pretty rare though, but it can still happen. Also, when some people get a bad concussion, their teeth grind together, and that is really bad for the teeth, and brain, and a mouth guard could stop that. Also, mouth guards prevent concussions, because it acts as a shock absorber, if you get hit, and it helps distribute the impact. When people get knocked out in hockey, their jaw often snaps shut, which would be really bad for the teeth, but a mouth guard would prevent, or at least significantly reduce the risk of tooth damage. The little pieces of gear in hockey, such as mouth guards, and neck guards, are often overloooked, because people don’t want to be wearing so much gear, or it irritates them, however these things can significantly reduce the risk of all kinds of different injuries. What are the two types of socks? I notice one goes under the "base layer" and the other goes over the shinguards
The upper pair of socks don't actually cover his feet. They are just to help keep the shin guards in place The lower pair actually protect your feet from the skates

base layer... skate socks.. cup? i am assuming you already have the cup on. how high up on your legs do the socks go? what do you call the tight fitting pants?
John May Lol yes of course! My hockey socks go up to where the tabs on my base layer pants are, usually mid to upper thigh. If you don't wear a base layer with tabs, you can just use clear hockey tape to secure your socks. Not sure which tight-fitting pants you're talking about

I always put my socks on first, then my skates, and then my shin guards.

I take it that your not wearing a cup/jock as you did not mention either in your video. You mention a base layer. A cup/jock is not always included with/in the base layer pants.
I do wear one, but I think most people might already know how to put that on. If not, I'm sure there's an instructional video on that somewhere else on TH-cam ;)
