  • My views on fountain pen nibs. Stub nibs and Italic nibs offer something special. What are the advantages over fine and medium nibs?

I’m an EF girl and I found someone who was able to grind down my nib to an EF cursive italic. I won’t do it for all my pens but it was nice to have one that wrote a little bit prettier lol

Cool! I'll bet an EF with a cursive italic nib makes a beautiful line!

To need to "stop being left handed" to enjoy your fountain pens shows real commitment. Your video has persuaded me to give a stub a try even though I favour fine and extra fine nibs: I'm concerned that I'll lose the loop of my e

Interesting comment! I want to clarify that there's nothing wrong with being left handed, I just had especially horrible handwriting. And I don't think I was really left handed, I think my hippie grammar school teachers of the late sixties just didn't want to harsh my vibe. So - you're right, a stub nib will affect your loops, on 'e' and 'f' and other letters. AT FIRST. But you'll develop an extra flourish with a stub nib naturally that will compensate. You'll develop, or enhance, your own handwriting style. It's a fun process.

Do you still write with your hand, too?

I do still write with my right hand! It has been an incredible journey. My handwriting has improved SO MUCH over how it was with my left hand, that it has been very rewarding. If you're asking if I write with my hands or my feet, I totally understand. Although my writing has greatly improved, I'm terrible compared to most people.
