Loved this series , find really cool to present 3 strong woman and being so supportive of Natasha ! I find it really interesting that in comparison she looks not as fast as the others but actually her times are really good ! Congratulations on that !
me as beginer was like 7:10... after 6 months/2 times per week run I was like 6:10... 4:13 as beginner? that's insane or I definitely has asthma and doctor thinks that 6:10 is good time so i don't have asthma...
Amazing results from all of you! Natasha, I can't wait to be a beginner like you lol, my 5K is around 28 at the moment. I'm planning to do some trail running next year, and compete in my first half marathon.
I agree, the thing is it isn't like they would swim, bike and run together, but having said that it still would be cool. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Great series... would love to see the three of you in the same triathlon. Would be an excellent follow-on. However, the beginner may not be a beginner at that point... she's pretty keen amateur already.
Absolutely loved this series!! Would love to see more, and like others said, doing the same triathlon would be great! Quick side note, you should have maybe staggered the starts in line with predicted finishing times so that you'd all be fighting together right at the end! Great series, thank you GTN!
Great mini-series. It's entertaining to watch it. What was missing in this episode is something about shoes choices. The times were impressive - well done.
GTN is sponsored by ON for their running shoes. I am sure the pro is also sponsored (I noticed the 2xu logos in all her clothes). So I don't think they can talk about their shoe choices unbiased.
Wow, those times were smokin’ fast! I hope to run at any of those paces someday let alone the pro pace. Any context on the experience of the beginner? Long time runner, beginner tri-athlete?
Love you Natasha, regards from Petros in Cyprus !!! I actually know Natasha, what she didn’t tell you is that she can also play tennis 🎾 She’s a great athlete, I’m due to play tennis tomorrow with her parents Garry and Teresa who are also very sporty… Loved the videos of the three disciplines and YES would love to see the three of compete in the same competition ! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GIRLS
I concur with the others looking forward to seeing you in the same triathlon. I think you could still do some running form analysis by comparing the three, talk cadence, technique, running economy, etc.
On the subject of beginners, it's all relative. Note that this beginner has been training this whole year. I introduced a friend of mine to running recently and challenged him to his first 5k, he ran 18m 40!
This is a triathlon channel, Usain Bolt would be a beginner. Beginner is not a well defined term and I am sure they didn't want the times too diverge too much. Though if this label discourages people than maybe it wasn't the best idea to use an above average runner.
Hey, I hope you don't feel disheartened! Remember that getting better at running is a marathon, not a sprint 😉 You'll keep getting faster with practice. Hope the marathon goes well, we would love to hear how it goes! 👀
Folks, what is your definition of "beginner" here? 4:13 average on 2.5 km run is far away from probably most of the people "from the street" will be able to achieve. So one more time, what do you mean by "beginner"?
Wow, congratulations for the beginner time. I, male, 90kg, 34 years, having started to run consistently two years back, could maybe do that tomorrow. MAYBE...
If your body is more fit, it is more efficient, and the sending food and waste is easier during exercise compared with when you were not fit. The fit person has a more efficient system, so the heart doesnt pump as often. At least some of this might be due to tiny blood vessel growth when you exercise consistently and eat and drink and sleep well. The extra, new little blood vessels can feed your tissue well. Ask you doctor before you do new exercise.
Like other comments have said, the beginner time is REALLY quick - just be aware GTN that’s gonna scare off beginners who are looking for someone to relate to…
I can agree with that .. started running 4 months ago, once maybe twice a week for two month, now four times a week for the last 2 months - so yeah, beginner (?) I was pleased with my 6.30km pace, watched this hoping I'd be close to the 'beginner' times.... Feeling a just little bit deflated now 🙁 😂😂
@@savgwynne8028 6.30km pace how far? 2.5K or 5K or 10K? Because im also a beginner, but it depends. I can maybe run 2.5k with ~5.30km pace, but 5K i will run a loooot slower, ~7:50km pace was my best.
Great video… but Beginner? Maybe not setting the best expectations. I’ve ran 20 half marathons and a marathon this year and couldnt run the beginner speed. A beginner 2.5km is probably 17/18 minutes. Great video concept though.
dont forget it's only 2.5k. Ive been running for a little over year, only about 10k per week and would definetely call myself a beginner even though I cycle quite a lot more than I run. My best 1k (as part of a 5k race I did this year) is 4:16 and the 5k itself was 21:42. Obviously not a total beginner (and a male if that matters) as in straight from the couch, but still never did any serious running before in my life and I am almost 40.
She is a beginner triathlete not runner. I don't remember her performance in the other disciplines, but triathletes often have one stronger sport. Most of them may even have a semi serious background in them. Depending on what the goal of the video is, it may also be less "fun" to see a 8min, 9min and then 18min run. Though if you are concerned it discourages people because the "beginner" is faster than a lot of people I can understand that.
The carbon plate shoes the pro is wearing will massively influence her pace in comparison to the beginner. Not sure if the amateur is wearing carbon plate shoes or not?
“Running doesn’t really require skill”. I disagree, it requires far more technique than cycling which other than aero position, requires almost none, just a big motor that part fitness and part genetics. Running economy can vary widely. Most beginners are not good runners because they have poor economy.
Cycling requires more technique than running. You can massively improve your power just from proper pedalling technique. Running is high impact and puts a lot more stress on the muscles hence why beginner runners aren’t good runners. After time the body adapts and hence why they become better at running.
I could beat heather on that 2,5ish run but just barely and im 30 and male, top 5 in my age group in my country so mi guess is we are not that strong outside of our local races
Can we just agree that this isn't really a triathlon video and more of a running video, and that the 'beginner' is already a runner/jogger over the years? Bit suspect if you ask me.
Loved this series , find really cool to present 3 strong woman and being so supportive of Natasha ! I find it really interesting that in comparison she looks not as fast as the others but actually her times are really good ! Congratulations on that !
4:13 pace is not beginner level. This might scare real beginners for sure
seriously. On a VERY good day I'm mid 6 min. lol.
Yeah definitely not for beginners.
Totally agree, they should of had a true beginner like they had in the beginner triathlon series
Yes it is bro I was doing that in my training when I started running 🤣
Does it seem fast because that is per kilometer?
That beginner time is very quick 😬
Yeah, sub-22 5K pace is well past "beginner." This was more like Serious Amateur vs. Former Olympian vs. Current Pro.
me as beginer was like 7:10... after 6 months/2 times per week run I was like 6:10... 4:13 as beginner? that's insane or I definitely has asthma and doctor thinks that 6:10 is good time so i don't have asthma...
@@Jon-lf2dj Nailed those categories right here
I run my 5K in 35 minutes after 10 weeks training from zero. The pro runs 10k in even less 😅 But definitely no beginner...
@@Jon-lf2dj lol accurate, if the former olympian is a mere "amateur" then you know the beginner isn't exactly a beginner.
This series has been great to watch! Can be nothing but encouraged by everyone's efforts.
Amazing results from all of you! Natasha, I can't wait to be a beginner like you lol, my 5K is around 28 at the moment. I'm planning to do some trail running next year, and compete in my first half marathon.

This series is so wholesome. Love it
Kat is an amazing runner! Running 3:02 km splits is sub 5 minute miling! I'd be lucky to run 1k at that pace! All 3 did really well 👏👏👏
Absolutely loved this series!! Would love to see more, and like others said, doing the same triathlon would be great! Quick side note, you should have maybe staggered the starts in line with predicted finishing times so that you'd all be fighting together right at the end! Great series, thank you GTN!
Great suggestion - thanks!
You just gotta love Kat Matthews for how genuine and supportive she's been this entire series.
Absolutely amazing series! Thank you for all the inspiration. I'm pumped for my first triathlon. Tritonman 2023!

Puts my fastest times to shame. Congrats ladies! Super entertaining vlog

Brilliant effort from everyone 😊❤️
Thank you for your work and the contents, every week, or second day/day! It is a lot of work and it is very hard, THANK YOU! :)

Oof damn! Gratz to your friend, that's such an awesome timing
Damn!! Is he crazy talented (a natural) or did he go really hard on the training and somehow avoid injury? Or both lol
Great series!
Thank you!
A pace of 4:13 is NOT a beginner.
Agreed ! + a beginner with a 23 minute 5k is not a beginner either
Maybe it is a beginner level if you pay attention to technique instead of time. Yes, that time means she is fit, but compare HOW they run.
Everybody has their own entry level, there are people that just have more aptitude for running then others.
This is a triathlon channel, Usain Bolt would be a beginner. Beginner is not a well defined term and I am sure they didn't want the times too diverge too much. Though if this label discourages people than maybe it wasn't the best idea to use an above average runner.
@@kenavr This makes sense, perhaps defining beginner would have helped with context.
The shoes. You didnt talk about the shoes !!!
Awesome series! Loved it.
great as always!
"beginner" with a 23' 5K? That is flying!
Haha yeah that's extremely fast, idk how this is happening.. Maybe cross training
Love your video, massive thumbs up for video
Just started running again after may be a year not really active, manage to get 57 minutes on 10km after 1 months+ or running
All three of these ladies ran this faster than I could, haha, and I'm running a marathon next week.
Hey, I hope you don't feel disheartened! Remember that getting better at running is a marathon, not a sprint 😉 You'll keep getting faster with practice. Hope the marathon goes well, we would love to hear how it goes! 👀
I'd like to log a formal complaint about that cup of tea Natasha drinks.. it's mostly milk!! 😳
Great video!
Delicious calories
Having all 3 of you in the same triathlon would be awesome. That's can't happen in most other sports. that would be brilliant!
When the beginners in this channel runs faster than you
My phase is 5:30/km that's my best
I cannot run faster than that I tries

Another good video in the series. Just like GCN, the amateur may not be an amateur for long.
Great series. Natasha will kill it with all the help she's getting. GL
Beginner v Amateur v Pro in transition!!
🤔
Transition challenge???
What distance it was? 2,5km?
Wow, congratulations for the beginner time. I, male, 90kg, 34 years, having started to run consistently two years back, could maybe do that tomorrow. MAYBE...
I just watched the last video this one and wonder who is the pro, amateur & beginner?
Can you please explain the heart rates? How did the relatively fast(amateur) have lesser HR than beginner? What is better?
HR is highly individual. Lionel Sanders has a max HR of 160. Other Pros 190.
I think that it’s more of a fun statistic

I think Natasha the 'beginner' would give me a run for my money and I've been club running for decades!
So let's head out for a run! Let's gooo! 🏃♂️
It is beginner's time if she was doing athletics as a kid, definitelly NOT beginner's time if she starts with running for first time in her life.
wow that was really fast!! like all 3 of them were fast.

Excellent
Impressive times 👍🏻
I feel like an "Ultrabeginner" right now... If that's not a word, I think it should be... I need it for myself... 😂
Our beginner put in an impressively fast time for this challenge. It's perfectly normal for a beginner to run much slower
I thought I'm an amateur, until Natasha runs with 4.11 pace 😄
Gtn needs to find a race for Heather.... Great shape
Hats off to the beginner!
Sorry I missed it. How far did they run?
2,5k
Everyone should wear super shoes next time to make it fair. Kat there's a new parkrun nest me that's super quick for your sub 16 attempt?
I find the notion ex-pro=amateur to be rather silly. It s 2 pros with different levels of training and one beginner.
The carbon plate shoes the pro is wearing will massively influence her pace in comparison to the beginner. Not sure if the amateur is wearing carbon plate shoes or not?
if 4.13 pace is amatuer than what am i? spectator?? haha
Lol!!! Everyone is confused with beginner pace. She is a beginner triathlete, not a beginner runner.
Why do I never finish looking like I haven't done anything😂
Looks are deceiving as the amateur looks like she has the physique of a pro and the pro looks like she has the physical attributes of a beginner.
This was a bit of a chic flick but I enjoyed the video. Cool :)
Me, a beginner beginner: my time would be more than double what their times were. 😬
Edit: had to fix my grammar 😂
It's all relative! Don't worry about times - especially if you're a 'beginner beginner' - just make sure you're having fun!

Used to be pro but retired
Was never a pro triathlete. She was an elite pentathlete but had never competed higher than AG in triathlon
I'm slower than all of them 😅
please consider adding imperial units as a time stamp on the video's for us backward people who still dont use the metric system.
