I think the shells is not just shells. Its for the ears, the cochlea as it appears in the lyrics. It transforms sounds to the brain as messages hence there are two hallways representing the 2 ears. Meaning this music will blow your mind.
Pharitas set looks like shes inside of a monster with a lot of eyes looking out for prey.
Also the lyrics were " do or die, all my life, yeah you aint seen nothing yet" and theres like 2 black eyes that has some type of projector or lights coming from it. Signifies the eyes of people hating on them but the thing is they were looking at pharitas back meaning people only looking something to throw shade on them
They aint seen nothing yet cause they refuse to believe what they were seeing. What the truth is that they really are a monster in the insustry
You missed the importance of Rami's low note. That low note by Rami was one of the most BADASS lines ever said in Kpop. Before her, Rora sings, "It's our turn now" followed by Rami, "Slowly burn it down while you're asleep". The reason that is such a badass line is that many Koreans talk shit about BabyMonster because they are Blackpink's baby sisters so YG releases their music at midnight Korean time (everyone else gets release times around noon -1pm Korean time). So those two lines together, "It's our turn now, Slowly burn it down while you're asleep" is absolutely true. They burned down the entire market and their haters while they slept with this song and all we can say is "Sheesh"
Also on the shells, they represent a cochlea. That bone in the inner ear that looks like a shell then referenced by the rap lines with Ruka ending it with a comment basicly saying that when listening to us all you can do is sit there with your mouth shut and say Sheesh.
There are also references to them going to the top and Ahyeon high note saying "Come on lets fly" and their first live appearance will be in Japan (already taking it global).
Also thought that where Ruka, Ahyeon, and Asa meet are passageways in the laborynth.

I knew that the Korean fans weren't as accepting of Babymonster (or Blackpink initially) but I didn't correlate that to what the lyrics actually meant. Fascinating!

YG is obsessed with greek mythology. AIYL, HYLT and Pink Venom by Blackpink all have greek mythology inspired concepts. That's why Babymonster has that part with the labyrinth too

But I wanna add a last thing that at the end you said about rap line's with the shell design, actually the shell actually symbolizes the cochlea here. Cochlea is a part of our inner ear , it is a very important organ to perceive sound and send the sound wave to your brain so that you can hear . You can see Ruka said in her rap at the beginning that "put it all in your cochlea" which also depicts their confidence.

Yes, the cochlea in our ear is shaped like a snail shell/ammonite. They also reference "snail" in the Korean lyrics through word play.
Great breakdown, Warren. But I also want to add another detail. As you can see in the MV, there are horror elements seen everywhere like the branched trees, a scary looking castle, the picture frames, the eyes which symbolizes illuminati (lol), and the whispering during the outro, and supposedly BABYMONSTER was gonna have their debut on November which is the Halloween season, but due to Ahyeon’s hiatus, they had to delay the actual debut so instead, they released BATTER UP as the temporary debut song. SHEESH is actually the debut song of BABYMONSTER, which is why there are horror elements in the MV because SHEESH is their actual debut song. It was only delayed.

Did you catch the BM maze on the piano? and the BM on the floor? And in the roof of the dragon mouth too? The shells in the rap part is also a direct reference to the lyrics, cochlea, witch is the snail formed part inside your ear where the ear nerves are located. The shell IS a picture of a cochlea ;) Pharita standing on all eyes forming a flower while singing "when I open my eyes I bloom" :)
the song is initiating Ahyone into the gang. Ahyone declare "Come on let's ride" as she walk into the BM sanctuary and show the girls she is a monster. :)

I think the circle portrait of the members represent different characters
Chiquita: a werewolf, as there is the full moon and the woods behind her
Rami: a witch, as there are crows around her, and crows are often associated with witches.
Rora: the thorns may mean that she is maleficent as maleficent conjured the thorns around sleeping beauty’s castle. Also, Rora’s name comes from Aurora (she is nicknamed Sleeping Beauty by the members too😂)
Asa: maybe related to beauty and the beast as her background has roses and she is wearing a crown
Ruka: Something related to spiders, maybe Aragog lol😂
Pharita: Not sure
Ahyeon: she may represent the Minotaur as there is the labyrinth in her background

Nice! The song/video are so creative, so original, so captivating, just so good! The two cochlea on the walls behind rapping Ahyeon and Ruka could very well also include the meanings you mentioned, and it’s cool that they “rev” the two dirt bikes on the side walls during Asa’s amazing rap! “Boom boom pow”…Black Eyed Peas callback perchance? “Rum pum pum pum” à la a song by f(x) as well or only as a YG callback in general? They ARE on a “roll” (as they sing in the outro)…a Rolls-Royce Ghost model car that is! Asa mentions riding in on a Ghost in her rap, and a Rolls would definitely be a big flex. BTW, they all slayed! 1:14 Something cool I noticed as a musician, the notes that makes the "b.a.b.y.m.o.n" part form a triangular pyramid/marquee. I feel like YG loves triangles and pyramids so that's cool but I don't know.

I thought they were cochlea, the spiral cavity of the inner ear because Ruka's opening verse says "just gonna pour it into your cochlea". Could those shells also be cochlea?
Also, I feel like this is a huge marketing effort. By that I mean the words BabyMonster, as you pointed out, are used from beginning to end. In the subtitles the words BABY and MONSTER are in all caps and when it is spelled out by the members the letter are all caps.
Remember "Black pink in your area"? BP's MVs had the words black and pink sprinkled throughout the songs. And they became the biggest GG in the world. Same here. YG is a genius! I hope you're right about Babymonster becoming huge. Let's go!

Thanks! I mention it at like 00:19 in the video but it basically is meant to further tease the mythology behind the labyrinth and them being monsters :) I looked for other words or letters in it besides “BM” but I just see the BM. Good spot!
When they where 6 members it was baemon which has 6 letters, now with 7 members its babymon which has 7 letters
