How they don’t have much impact in K-pop- their music was very generic and told the same tale about love and nothing else. It was repetitive, and also, the group followed in the popular style and concept of girl crush in the 3rd gen following into the 4th gen just as many other girl group did. They paved no way for other girl groups to become brand ambassadors either, because if they did, way before NewJeans other girl groups should have been on multiple brand deals with companies, but they were not. Only when NewJeans came was when their names and faces were recognised by multiple brands. So blackpink didn’t pave the way for fashion, K-pop, or NewJeans, because the group didn’t do anything different. They followed in the same concept of their senior group, 2NE1. NewJeans came, and went with a more authentic and organic style of Y2K than we’ve seen in K-pop for a long time. It also fit because of their age that it was more appropriate for them to go into this style. Now that other senior groups such as XG and NMIXX are abandoning their signature EDM glitter style in music videos and going more for NewJeans impact style… it’s very clear to see that NewJeans is impact is even grossing into companies and senior groups and newer groups, especially with the amount of stars in K-pop speaking and bragging about NewJeans than they are more Blackpink, and even international artists.

I think that the main difference is the nature and mature/ elegant concept that each European brand manages as their style and the contrast that makes an awkward contrast with the youthful image of the New Jeans concept. The strong and powerful vibe that BP manages in their music is the perfect match to their image, independent, strong, sexy, fierce vibe that each bp member portrays in their own way and personal style. While with NJ the effect is kinda different and do not match the style of mature luxury brands. It’s true that the vibe the NJ members portray is different, not bad, but clearly more youthful than the brands concept. My first thought is the elegant way each BP member portrays jewelry and makeup. Is still weird to me that such young girls wears makeup and luxury jewelry that is usually portrayed in other contexts that in fact does not match their vibe and ages.
How the hell can you replace a group that's already set their legacy in kpop history. Blackpink is already established and are Legends. New Jeans are the new group setting their own path and legacy. I'm sorry but the moment you take a 2 year hiatus without warning and come back stronger breaking records and winning prizes like you never stopped, I think at that moment you are on another level. So far only Blackpink has done this (and I'm pretty sure Bts will, that's for sure). It's so silly to compare Newjeans with Blackpink and even other girl groups with them because everyone has their own path and direction. There is no need to copy another group's success because each group has its own color. Newjeans have already marked the 4th generation and this is just the beginning for them but Blackpink are next level and untouchable.
NewJeans is still too fresh to become ambassadors of these major brands. For example, Jennie was called the human Chanel from the very beginning didn't actually become their ambassador until a year after her debut. One thing NewJeans lacks and that is individual brand awareness, people know about the group but they don't know about the members themselves. While the opposite can be said for BlackPink, NewJeans needs to work on their individual popularity in Korea and then I think these brands will feel more comfortable with calling them their ambassadors.

I do love New Jeans, but I do think they are a bit young for these brands. I think they should be aiming to do build organic connections to fashion houses but also looking at deals with brands that aim at their own demographic to become face of those brands, where they would have a bigger impact. They could still go to shows or parties by big houses and maybe show up wearing an accessory or bag from that brand. When I think about my sister and my own youthful relationship with high-end brands as a middle class young women, they were usually gifts from my parents for big occasions, something special to be cherished when I was 17 or 18 or even in my early twenties: a pair of earrings or a watch when we graduated high school, a bag for our twenty first birthday, a scarf for christmas, a special jacket when I got my first job (which I still own and use 15 years later), I have fond memories of those brands and I still buy them now, years later with my own money when I can. That's more realistic I think.
I agree. Gucci and Channel do not fit the vibe that New Jeans have going on. If there is any fashion collabs, I would love to see New Jeans pair with sports apparel brands like Nike, Adidas, or Supreme. For the french fashion brands side, I could absolutely see incorporating the young and wide audience that New Jeans attracts, but it should be incorporating their products with New Jeans' style not the other way around (obviously this will not happen since the brands are more influential but still)
I think you are a bit mistaken. Its not that NJ is going for these brands. These brands are coming for the younger audience/gen Z not the other way around. I have been following gaming and the amount of high end luxury brands going into gaming is insane (where the majority target are teens and young adults). There have been so many: - Burberry x Minecraft - LV x League of Legends - Gucci has their esports team/academy in CSGO - Gucci x esports team 100Thieves. There are so many you wouldn’t believe it. These brands are def targeting younger audiences so it isnt really suprising theyd go for NJs.
Im sure theyll explore other concepts but rn… their concept doesnt scream luxurious and rich but more relatable oldies type of vibes. So when theyre performing in baggy jeans and crop tops then going to gucci or chanel fashion shows while theyre still teenagers.. it just doesn’t fit. Idk but companies trying to push their brand new rookies into the fashion industry doesn't seem like the best idea to me. This whole situation reminds me of those times where companies were pushing their idols into acting just to improve the groups reputation but it backfired cause those idols clearly had no talent/experience or interest in being an actor/actress. Therefore it only gained them lots of criticism. New Jeans have potential to be great models, especially Hyein but i kinda feel like their company is rushing things and not taking into consideration what the girls want and need as rookies, and that's focusing on MUSIC.

I'm sure that the NJ girls are sweet and talented. But, TBH, the Blackpink members actually look like real global ambassadors -- grown women who are internationally recognized celebrities who actually influence fashion and move markets. The NJ members kind of look like children playing a game of "dress up fashion show" where they take turns pretending to be global ambassadors. Like, take a look at 3:15 . Does that look like a brand ambassador for a sophisticated women's luxury fashion brand? Or more like a cute model for children's wear? (I mean if I just saw the photo and somebody said it was an advertisement for a child's clothing brand, I wouldn't have any reason to disbelieve it.) Something just seems off about the whole media play that seems to be pushing NJ members into women's fashion icon roles that they really haven't grown into yet.

Fifty fifty just surpassed new jeans and became the most streamed 4th gen group on spotify global. Kcharts are other story but would like to praise Jisoo for being in top 2 of all of them (except vibe I think) only behind Ive and she is #1 on youtube south korea saving the 3rd gen. Ive broke a lot of record too and now fifty fifty is breaking them and new grups will continue to do so making the 4th gen really competitive. But blackpink is just on another level that can't be reached that easily. What I think will happen is every year there will be a monster rookie or a group that will break a ton of records with their single and they will be compered with blackpink and this cyle will continue happening every year with a new group. Also, one more thing spotify monthly listeners are based on playlisting. That's why for example the Weeknd has over 100 million monthly listeners but has around 40 million streams daily, while Taylor has over 80 million monthly listeners (so less than him) but also has over 60 million streams daily (so more than him).

I'm not comparing any group here because I believe that every idol coming from any company has the potential to raise high but not everyone is lucky enough to get that support from the audience such that it remains hidden. Now, NJ songs are undoubtedly catchy and addicting! But, if they wouldn't debut under hybe but, some small companies then they wouldn't have got this much attention solely for the music they produce. Well Blackpink are legends and new jeans are walking in thier path, Blackpink has paved the way for fashion industry and now everyone walking on that path. New jeans are too young and thier company are making them ambassador too early . Blackpink had earned that title and become ambassador after lot of experience .
Newjeans is indeed a powerhouse. Their music is addictive and their style stands out but there are small but several factors that will make them impossible to replace Blackpink (either by the level of fame or prestigious status): 1) They're not easy to "remember". Unlike the members of Blackpink who are very distinguishable from each other, members of Newjeans are not. Sure, one can know who's who after a series of staring at pics or vids but that's the thing-- a person had to "get used to seeing them" before being able to determine some of the girls. NJ are super beautiful individually but lets face it. 3/5 of them look kinda alike for 1st timers 😅 2) NJ's voices are also not too distinguishable. Unless one would watch a series of line distribution vids, on first listen its difficult to know who's singing. Again, unlike Blackpink, each of their voices already has character. 3) This shouldn't even be a factor- but their names could also be confusing to audience. Do I have to explain this? 😅 I bet I'm not the only one who wondered why there are 3 names there that contained the letters H-N-I. In short, NJ will and would always have their solid fanbase because of their unique style. Meanwhile BP is BP; they gained their reputation by their unique combination and synergy. But to talk about replacement-- it won't happen because BP was made with a formula that would make them easy to remember and recognize even to non-kpop fans. Unfortunately, NJ doesn't hit all that formula to become the second BP.
Their company is simply setting them up making them ambassadors so early in their career. They will end up loosing popularity like other 4th gen groups and not be able to carry out those responsibilities. One day a group will be as popular as blackpink, but not as long as they are still the Queens. The fact is blackpink paved the way, BLACKPINK is the revolution.

If either of these 2 had debuted under hybe or the other big companies they would've been HUGE by now, at the top. How they don’t have much impact in K-pop- their music was very generic and told the same tale about love and nothing else. It was repetitive, and also, the group followed in the popular style and concept of girl crush in the 3rd gen following into the 4th gen just as many other girl group did.
They paved no way for other girl groups to become brand ambassadors either, because if they did, way before NewJeans other girl groups should have been on multiple brand deals with companies, but they were not. Only when NewJeans came was when their names and faces were recognised by multiple brands.
So blackpink didn’t pave the way for fashion, K-pop, or NewJeans, because the group didn’t do anything different. They followed in the same concept of their senior group, 2NE1.
NewJeans came, and went with a more authentic and organic style of Y2K than we’ve seen in K-pop for a long time. It also fit because of their age that it was more appropriate for them to go into this style. Now that other senior groups such as XG and NMIXX are abandoning their signature EDM glitter style in music videos and going more for NewJeans impact style… it’s very clear to see that NewJeans is impact is even grossing into companies and senior groups and newer groups, especially with the amount of stars in K-pop speaking and bragging about NewJeans than they are more Blackpink, and even international artists.

I think that the main difference is the nature and mature/ elegant concept that each European brand manages as their style and the contrast that makes an awkward contrast with the youthful image of the New Jeans concept. The strong and powerful vibe that BP manages in their music is the perfect match to their image, independent, strong, sexy, fierce vibe that each bp member portrays in their own way and personal style. While with NJ the effect is kinda different and do not match the style of mature luxury brands. It’s true that the vibe the NJ members portray is different, not bad, but clearly more youthful than the brands concept. My first thought is the elegant way each BP member portrays jewelry and makeup. Is still weird to me that such young girls wears makeup and luxury jewelry that is usually portrayed in other contexts that in fact does not match their vibe and ages.

NewJeans is still too fresh to become ambassadors of these major brands. For example, Jennie was called the human Chanel from the very beginning didn't actually become their ambassador until a year after her debut. One thing NewJeans lacks and that is individual brand awareness, people know about the group but they don't know about the members themselves. While the opposite can be said for BlackPink, NewJeans needs to work on their individual popularity in Korea and then I think these brands will feel more comfortable with calling them their ambassadors.

I do love New Jeans, but I do think they are a bit young for these brands. I think they should be aiming to do build organic connections to fashion houses but also looking at deals with brands that aim at their own demographic to become face of those brands, where they would have a bigger impact. They could still go to shows or parties by big houses and maybe show up wearing an accessory or bag from that brand.
When I think about my sister and my own youthful relationship with high-end brands as a middle class young women, they were usually gifts from my parents for big occasions, something special to be cherished when I was 17 or 18 or even in my early twenties: a pair of earrings or a watch when we graduated high school, a bag for our twenty first birthday, a scarf for christmas, a special jacket when I got my first job (which I still own and use 15 years later), I have fond memories of those brands and I still buy them now, years later with my own money when I can. That's more realistic I think.

I think you are a bit mistaken. Its not that NJ is going for these brands. These brands are coming for the younger audience/gen Z not the other way around. I have been following gaming and the amount of high end luxury brands going into gaming is insane (where the majority target are teens and young adults). There have been so many:
- Burberry x Minecraft
- LV x League of Legends
- Gucci has their esports team/academy in CSGO
- Gucci x esports team 100Thieves.

I'm sure that the NJ girls are sweet and talented. But, TBH, the Blackpink members actually look like real global ambassadors -- grown women who are internationally recognized celebrities who actually influence fashion and move markets. The NJ members kind of look like children playing a game of "dress up fashion show" where they take turns pretending to be global ambassadors. Like, take a look at 3:15 . Does that look like a brand ambassador for a sophisticated women's luxury fashion brand? Or more like a cute model for children's wear? (I mean if I just saw the photo and somebody said it was an advertisement for a child's clothing brand, I wouldn't have any reason to disbelieve it.) Something just seems off about the whole media play that seems to be pushing NJ members into women's fashion icon roles that they really haven't grown into yet.

Newjeans is indeed a powerhouse. Their music is addictive and their style stands out but there are small but several factors that will make them impossible to replace Blackpink (either by the level of fame or prestigious status):
1) They're not easy to "remember". Unlike the members of Blackpink who are very distinguishable from each other, members of Newjeans are not. Sure, one can know who's who after a series of staring at pics or vids but that's the thing-- a person had to "get used to seeing them" before being able to determine some of the girls. NJ are super beautiful individually but lets face it. 3/5 of them look kinda alike for 1st timers 😅
2) NJ's voices are also not too distinguishable. Unless one would watch a series of line distribution vids, on first listen its difficult to know who's singing. Again, unlike Blackpink, each of their voices already has character.
3) This shouldn't even be a factor- but their names could also be confusing to audience. Do I have to explain this? 😅 I bet I'm not the only one who wondered why there are 3 names there that contained the letters H-N-I.
In short, NJ will and would always have their solid fanbase because of their unique style. Meanwhile BP is BP; they gained their reputation by their unique combination and synergy. But to talk about replacement-- it won't happen because BP was made with a formula that would make them easy to remember and recognize even to non-kpop fans. Unfortunately, NJ doesn't hit all that formula to become the second BP.

Blackpink has this "rich girl"fashion vibes which is similar to their concept as a whole group while newjeans is opposite to it. If newjeans become the brand ambassador for the brands which has the theme similar to them then they can make it big in the fashion industry.I think this is why they are getting more criticisms .
I like newjeans music, it rly suits their age and image. But individually, lacking charisma & stage presence. My bias is hanni, bt among them i think danielle has the biggest potential to be noticed by western audience. Ador hybe should focus 1st on cementing their popularity in sk, as they are generally loved by sk casual listeners. Remember their competion is w/ ive, aespa, itzy, gidle, nmixx, soon baemon. Bp was loved mainly by fans bt internationally, they shined individually so their fandom grew big due to int'l fans even if sk don't love them that much, & even casual listeners who are non kpop fan are drawn to them that's why it wasn't long before 4 big luxury brands made them GBA. Those 4 fashion houses wuld gain more sales by the popularity of each member, and they're on the right age, not those teens but the blossoming young women who got brand awareness.
NeeJeans fashion deals ate HYBE connections. These girls are doing amazing in their home country, but they are no one outside Korea and that's the truth, specially individually speaking.
I'm sure they will be a great group but as of now, many of their achievements are more promotions then an achievemend gained bcs of their real impact.
I don't know if Hybe is trying to "replace" Blackpink or not but I happen to agree that in order to be an ambassador you should have a while wearing the brand and also look good while doing it. They are pushing New Jeans way too fast, way too much and it shows.

Blackpink is at their peak right now -- it's all down hill from here. That's not a bad thing since they've achieved a height that I don't see any KPOP GG touching any time soon. That being said, they're getting older and want to move on with their lives. New Jeans is the new group but they'll never even come close to BP in terms of global popularity. That being said, I stan New Jeans and I hope they do well for years to come.

It may just be a subjective impression, but everything about new jeans is similar to the debut of aespa. Hybe via Ador as SM for aespa put a lot of money to promote their rookies group. And achieve successes that seem artificial to me by relying only on charts that could be easily manipulated by massive ads on certain well-targeted regions. And do the same with the fashion world. I may be wrong, only time can confirm it or not.
