I love how complex and odd-sounding their heavy riffs are. It's like they take every "wrong" note and put them together to make them work. Mad respect.
@@tom_dilley it goes in between soft tones on the guitar and then right back to punchy most bands nowadays have flabby undesirable guitar tones that sound horrible
dude this is absolutely insane in every single way. there's so much complex harmony and dissonance and you nailed every single bit of it, not to mention the insane rhythms. Holy hell has anyone gotten this in front of Loathe yet? they need to see this prodigy
I've tried to hit up Spiritbox to see if maybe Courtney would wanna collab on a song of mine and/or show them a cover I did of their song "Aphids" and I didn't hear anything. I had stuff to show them and everything😔 They probably receive a ton of messages unfortunately or didn't want to respond. I do agree though, he nailed it and I loved studying his technique
This has helped me learn some of these songs so much dude. The tunings, the static camera shot, spot on. Thanks and huge respect for doing the whole flippin' thing!

It must be so much fun to be able to play this whole album! I’m a drummer and I fantasise about playing this fully. I have some mean chops and can learn pretty quick after 33 years of drumming experience (last 25 years only modern metal), but damn…that must be so hard to pull off. Same goes for guitar, this is top notch!!
havent commented yet but ive watched this a lot the past few years and god damn this is just still perfection you absolutely killed it and i need loathe to release a new album its 2024…
I find myself coming back so many times to listen to this "version" of the album. The guitsr harmonys bleeding through a bit more then the album just makes it *chefs kiss*
I finally get to see them for the first time next week so excuse me while I binge this thousands of times. This video is what caused me to dive into Loathe
you fucking nailed this. this album has easily become one of my favorites of all time. Listening to it over and over and watching videos of them playing live is so rad, but seeing visually the technicality and the way you performed these songs gives me just ANOTHER huge way to appreciate their style of writing. I'm supposed to see them next year for the first time and I cant wait for that set to change me. Amazing work,
For the bass vi songs, it's just drop A for the top 5 strings, and some variations to the lowest string. Once I realized that, stuff really started to click for me.
i start listening to loathe in january, came up to this video searching for is it really you guitar cover only, fast forward album so great im playing this video once per week cause my favorite song in the album change every week

Wow. You know. I am 26, and as an aspiring and beginning guitar player at the age of 12, I got really into covers all over youtube and have learned how to play so many songs by watching them on YT with the help of others. This is without a doubt the best cover I have seen! Amazing production on every element and love the genuine no cuts effort. I actually prefer this over the album stream sometimes haha. This is really cool to see. I have been loving this band a lot this past week since I've really gave them a good listen for the first time too. Keep it up man! I think I am about to buy some of these guitars too, really need something to play this kind of style. Where did you get a Peavey EXP with a humbucker!! Can only find single coils. Suggestions? Oh and did you have to route out the nut for the strings to fit?
Thank you dude, I really appreciate all the kind words!! As for the Peavey, I found one originally at my local Guitar Center where I fell in love with it. Then purchased one a few months later on ebay. So just keep an eye out on the used market. I would say the pickups are the main reason I bought that guitar. It's got amazing tone.
