I also love the way the birds peak over the nest wall--adding a head tilt makes it even more adorable. I can't say this is the most fun season because of the loss of Luna, but these girls are definitely a joy to watch. And it's a joy to watch your wonderful videos, SKH. An aside: late last night, one of the juveniles (I couldn't tell which one) started crying out loudly. It seemed to be in response to each boom from the fireworks and ended about 11 pm when the fireworks could no longer be heard. Probably just a coincidence, but I was glad the three were together because one of them was clearly disturbed by something.

Excellent lessons courtesy of our juvie sisters: Don't bring your prey anywhere near Lucia. When she inevitably steals it, use the under-the-bum method of retrieval. Tail feather pulling will help bring Lucia to the proper position for retrieval. Or you can use the Zoe method and find your prey away from the nest and enjoy it in peace. When all is said and done, settle down with your sisters for a good night's sleep. Thanks for the very entertaining and instructive capture, SKH.
