Rare Golden Pheasant in the wild, Lancashire, England, UK. Close up footage. 👀👉🦜

A very tame golden pheasant, found when on a walk. No ring on its foot, but likely to have escaped or released from an aviary The area is open moorland with a dense pine forest, & ideal for them to live.
They are originally from China, but breeding birds are established in Britain. Between 50-100 pairs in the south UK according to RSPB.

This one is someone's bird, you wouldn't be able to come this close to a wild bird, especially pheasant

I still like these colorful birds. My 14 years old Golden Pheasant escaped in 2014 and our huge aviary with 120 m² then came to an end after 28 years.

It hasn't got a ring on its leg, but I'm thinking it has to have escaped from somewhere for it to be so tame.

@@spiraldive2 I checked on Google after seeing the video. It's estimated there's only 50-100 pairs in the UK, and none further north than Norfolk. RSPB might be interested to hear of its sighting.
Either way, its absolutely stunning. You're lucky to have seen it!

Yes, the video says "in the wild", it was in a wild location, free to go wherever it wants, not captive.
