- Sailing to the enchanting tropical island of Gili Air we enjoy a few days rest and relaxation after our challenging last few weeks. This is our last day and we plan to enjoy the last western food and other luxuries that the island has to offer before we sail to Sulawesi and its remote spaces. It might be another 12 months before we can order a proper pizza, cappuccino or Ice cream again. Join us as we show you around this beautiful place.
Hope you all enjoy this one

Heartwarming, just makes us smile. Thank you. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid. xx
Thanks guys. Hope you’re doing well.
Great to see you all in the groove! I reckon they need restaurants and menus specialising in meals you can eat with one hand for parents!
Pizza works pretty good one handed. It’s funny what you take for granted before having a baby though.
Miss you guys!!Miss gili too
We miss you too ! Would have been good to have a drink on the beach with you 😍
The yellow borders work excellently. :)
Good to hear that.
Nice video....😉♥
Thank you 😊
Many many thanks
Marie holding Eli up in the air while the sun was setting was beautiful . Your a lucky man Vernon .
I am indeed Joey!🙏
Hi Vernon & Marie, sorry we just missed you at Gili Air. We really enjoyed our stay there. Enjoy Sambawa and safe travels.
Regards Dave Edwards
Cheers Dave, glad you had a good stay. Maybe we’ll catch up somewhere else.
Beautiful video
Thank you.
Awesome, you're child looks like he'll be an Olympic swimmer someday! What a great mama. One thing I've learned from this channel, before you buy a boat, check the bobstay fitting !!! which I've done, religiously (reference to old vid I'll never forget).
Haha, well he loves the water! Wow, that’s an old video you’re talking about. Good memories
Love Maire voice over. Reminds me of Jacques Cousteau documentaries when I was a kid
I am happy because it is Hard to soften my French accent hahaha 🤣
Absolutely amazing video
Thank you very much!
He's got good muscles that little fellow, great to see him looking so happy and healthy! That Crowther looks like the perfect yacht for what you're doing.Really enjoying your vids thank you
Thanks for watching! Little Eli is pretty robust. Hasn’t been sick yet.
Thank you for sharing a day off the boat. Pizza is the perfect meal before a passage.
Your little man is adorable!
Thanks so much! 😊
Man... you guys are bringing back some awesome memories of Lombok! Cheers and thanks for these vids... so special! YYYyyyyyyeeeeewww 🤙
Our pleasure!
Hello Marie, Vernon and Little Eli
Nice video spending the last day I guess in basically Western Style civilization. Pizza, Icecream, fresh water pool looking out at the blue sea and greenery as Marie said Beautiful.
Have a great sail well hopefully sail less motoring to next location after Lombok. Looking forward to next video
Thanks mate, n it was a super enjoyable last day of western pleasures. I cant wait to be away from it and out there
Thanks for all the Eli footage 😍 omg he’s adorable! Glad to see you both getting back at Sailing too! Happy all is well! 👍🏻
Thanks Jen. We’re getting our confidence back and looking forward to the remote places coming up.
Lovely Place... never a dull moment with you guys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, spent 10 days in Lomboc in November, fell in love with the place, rode the scooter thru the mountains beautiful.
I hope that you are currently safe, saw on the Australia news yesterday that a volcano in Sulawesi has been spewing lava, etc.
Looking forward to your return to local villages and interacting with the locals again, stay safe, enjoy your lovely family.
Thanks David. We are really enjoying the remote places already. Lombok is cool and interesting but we prefer the islands far away from Bali
Thanks!
Thanks to you!
Again I enjoy your channel. I’m doing my best to support you and your adventures.
Hope my contributions find you well.
So generous of you Eric, we thank you muchly.
With out hesitation my friend. I know more about you than you me, however, I'm captivated with your family. yes, I'm living vicariously thru you all. And love your content. 3 videos a month is perfect for me.
I'll do
my best to be more consistent with support.
Awesome guys, so happy for you both/family...
#sailingpopeye
thanks mate
When do you think you'll head across the Indian Ocean and what Islands along the way will you be stopping at?
I don’t think we will go that way. It’s the pacific that’s holds interest to me. Caribbean and Mediterranean are places I have no interest in sailing too. I’d love to visit Chagos but it’s a long distance to sail to not be allowed to stay long.
@@SailingLearningByDoing I agree but also want to sail around the world and around both South America and Australia. I can skip Europe but would have to sail through the Caribbean. I think that I will like the South Pacific Islands best and plan on spending most of my time in the South Pacific because of it.
@@robertlaird6746 I’m not fussed by the round the works thing. If ever, then solo nonstop. Coconut route is not very challenging and if half of the stops don’t interest me then I don’t see the point. To be honest, PNG and Solomon Islands are probably the best places left for remote and reasonably cheap untouched cruising and they are right here.
@@SailingLearningByDoing Sounds good. Yeah, I'm not interested in the coconut route either. I prefer the route less traveled like you but still plan on going around just because. Lot's of different stuff to see out there.
@@robertlaird6746 you got that right. TOO MUCH STUFF TO SEE. Our method is though to go slow and spend time in places, get to know the people. The rallies bounce through Indonesia in about a month, seeing pretty much nothing but some curated fake cultural events.
