Dude I been struggling to learn how to scratch for years now but after watch how simple u break it down I can actually go back to old dj scratching videos I used to watch for hrs and fully understand what I'm watching and what they're doing .... big props bro I'm bouta level up real quick now ....I never cared to dj I got this equipment to learn how to scratch I've quit a lot to but definitely bout to pull my turntables back out
honestly i just started 3 days ago and this video is by far the most helpful thing ive watched so far. I really didnt even think about a lot of these points but now that you said them they seem so obvious please keep it coming cuz you are an amazing teacher
bro ty ty ty ty ive been djing sice i was 14 im 35 theres been alot of changes lol your a awesome teacher best way for beginers or pro this rhe channel
🙏🏾 of course. I think it’s super important to understand that this is a marathon and not a race. There’ll be bumps and bruises along the way, but the finish line is there for all of us!
Thank DJ lift off, appreciate your teaching 🙏.I'm having trouble with the left side scratching. Can you make a video on the left side scratching appreciate it thank you
I wanna add that the position of one hand doesn't have to match the other. For my main record hand (left), I hold a low 8 o'clock, and my other hand (right) is a higher 9 o'clock. Same principle applies with the crossfader. Sometimes a new position can help with learning. Definitely helped when I started practicing faster chirps.
You’re welcome! And of course!! Some think it’s one of those things you learn in a few weeks but it literally took me years to get super comfortable. Definitely a learning process.
what song do i listen to when i'm trying to beat match the two do i listen to the one that's going through the master or through the headphones when using a DJ controller when you can't see the BPM do you email you a picture of why I why I can't see the BPM's
I keep the tension on my fader heavy for speed and endurance. Try playing for an hour with yours far right then adjust it back to your sweet spot, you'll feel the difference. can you do a video on your visual equipment and setup?
You should try and practice with both! For me, I do different techniques better depending on which hand is on the cross fader. My dominant hand is more comfortable on the cross fader but with chirps, and really fast scratching, my dominant hand is better on the platter
Sup, DJ LiftOFF. Ur such an amazing DJ tutor with big patience. I think ur videos already helped some beginners. My advice would be, add some of ur highlight showcase at the top or also the end of ur each video. Post some 30 secs routines as SHORT. It may bring more subscribers to ur channel. Keep it up, im ur fan bro. Cheers.
Hey djliftoff what song do i listen to when i'm trying to beat match the two do i listen to the one that's going through the master or through the headphones
Honestly, old me would have said learn it at 3 o’clock but if you’re comfortable scratching at 9 o’clock and it doesn’t stop or hinder you from doing anything, I’d say just stay consistent with that hand positioning!
I've seen lots of different hand positions! Whatever is most comfortable, stick to it and keep grinding! Comfortability and consistency is definitely key 💯

can you do a video on your visual equipment and setup?
Smart move man, never thought to do that!!
And you mean as far as how I record everything?
My question is which hand should be on the crossfader the dominant or the non dominant
You should try and practice with both! For me, I do different techniques better depending on which hand is on the cross fader. My dominant hand is more comfortable on the cross fader but with chirps, and really fast scratching, my dominant hand is better on the platter

Thank you for the suggestions 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I think that’s definitely a great idea that I should implement. Appreciate you, and the support.
my right hand is good at scribbling on the right jog wheel, but i want my left hand to be just as good as my right , im struggling with my left hand
I struggle with my left too man!! Just gotta take it a day at a time.
I like your videos brother. Where can I get those plain (without a rane logo) vinyls?
I got mine from a company called digidesign on Etsy! They’re legit.
@@DJLiftOFF thanks bro. I am in Africa I don’t know how I can go about Etsy. I hope there’s a way you can help me with that.
🙌🙌🙌
I think i had quit more than 7 times already lol. i'm more than determine now. Thanks for your videos.
Ahaha, appreciate you man! I know the struggle all too well. It’s all worth it in the end!
Hey djliftoff what song do i listen to when i'm trying to beat match the two do i listen to the one that's going through the master or through the headphones
Yoo! You should be able to “cue” whichever track you’re bringing in to listen to it in order to beat match. What kind of gear do you have?
is it bad that I scratch with my right hand at 3 o'clock? i tried 9 o'clock but it just doesn't feel normal.
Honestly, old me would have said learn it at 3 o’clock but if you’re comfortable scratching at 9 o’clock and it doesn’t stop or hinder you from doing anything, I’d say just stay consistent with that hand positioning!
Dj LiftOFF your friend in the house...
Ahah 🙏🏾🙏🏾
It's a process! Just keep practicing! Shout out to the discord chat!
🙏🏾💯💯
my hands twitch, it's like my brain sends bad signals. it's mostly the fader i really struggle with.
Keep practicing! It definitely was a little unnatural for me at first! It’ll become more natural as time goes by
❤❤
How to Arever
For some reason 3 O clock is more comfortable for me
I've seen lots of different hand positions! Whatever is most comfortable, stick to it and keep grinding! Comfortability and consistency is definitely key 💯
