I love the diversity of these youngsters, I was first attracted to the music of Joan Chamorro and his group because of the jazz, but it now goes far beyond that. You have broadened my musical horizons immensely. Thank you all so much.

@@bndeyo Yes. I thought we would never see Magali again as Joan had responded to my inquiry about her as she was no longer playing. I always believed she was grossly unappreciated, so I was so happy to see her again as she had played with Rita and her mother before. Elizabeth is in my estimation, the best guitar accompanist ever. Observing her with Rita is pure joy. And Rita is nothing but talent.
Robert, you stole my words. Magali is so talented in so many ways it is great to see her again. Loving it here in Los Angeles.
@@joemorrissey1624 I too live in Los Angeles Joe. I have been following the entire SAJB for some time now as I am quite a jazz buff. I have been constantly impressed by the many talented musicians in the SAJB. I asked Joan Chamorro about some of the musicians that had left SAJB and he informed me that Abril Sauri, Magali and a few others were not performing any more and that disappointed me. I was impressed with Abril's work on drums and Magali's bass work and I have always been impressed by Rita and her mother.
@@Bobmartiz1 I too would be thrilled to see Magali playing again, as she is a special one, but how do we know when this was recorded? It looks like a pre-coronavirus date to me. There is a full audience.

So many pleasures here. Catching up with Magali again. Fabulous singer from the same Chamorro school as Rita. Trombone solo never better and Elisabeth delivering delicious new muted textures and harmonics. Ignasi, great tone, and Juan always sensitive and evocative.
But my greatest pleasure is seeing how happy Rita is to be making music with her old friend.

Rita, I LOVE the work you're doing these days, and I want your mother's autograph! I first knew this as Leo Brower's arrangement called "Afro-Cuban Lullaby"..the pastry chef in a hotel where I was playing requested it, and I didn't know it (tho aware of it). Her husband sent me the sheet music, and I played that version for years before I knew it was "duerme negrita". and i want your mother's autograph and fan club contact info....
