But after the initial bantering and getting to learn a little of their history, most folks will leave you alone to work your Ninja magic on the glass. One thing I always do is keep them informed of the progress of the work. Once I finish the inside I let them know that part is done and I'm starting on the outside next and ask whether the gate is unlocked so I have access to the back of the house and they'll sometimes let me know where the hoses are located. But the trust has been established and they feel confident in your abilities to provide them with a high quality job done right. One of my very first customers over 30 yrs ago had a saying on a plaque behind his desk that I have built my company's reputation on. It read: If you haven't got the time to do the job right the FIRST TIME when will you find the time to do it again? That became a motto that has served me well.

Im ready to be in and out and do a good job quickly. My cousin is the same way but he makes sure to take his time and make his work perfection. Not only that but he has worked 7 years in retail and understands how to relate to people. So while im going around the house getting a count on panes and checking the house, he is with the customer understanding all of their needs and he can get a read of what the person does or even what their name is. If it wasnt for him observing a customers house we would have gave a receipt with the customers name written incorrectly! And that is a HUGE NO NO. Great video Keith!
solid advice. i find myself doing this everyday with my customers its crazy that in my window cleaning business i am rarely thinking about windows! haha we are always focused on other topics, and of course always keeping it positive. finding a way to relate to the customer solidifies theyr loyalty to your service , i agree completely , we are in a people business the windows just happen to be the reason we are there! i would love a book recommendation i just finished the richest man in babylon. i realized subsequently that i am now a window ninjaaaaa!

I just did a house last weekend...and I swear this man stood next to me on every window lol, it was crazy....but I am going to take your advice and start offering packages instead of pricing the house by the number of windows...in your window cleaning packages do you have a Max number of windows you do for that set price?

I'm a window ninja in the making lmao... Hey man I've got my business license and I'm cleaning solar and Windows. As of right now mostly storefronts and some residential solar but to be honest I'm scared to death to do inside residential windows and I really would rather just say I only do external windows at residential jobs. Most of the reason I feel that way is I have anxiety in a strangers home and there's more liability issues... do you think my business which by the way is just myself would be successful if I were to stick to only external windows and solar.

It gets so stressful I offer to just give all the money back.. If she just calm down n let me leave. Shes being mean and threatening to call her husband and say that I am gyping them. I end up tellin her that I needed to be at another appointment and would come back n finish later. I never returned. What would YOU have done??

so do you go with the straight package pricing and get customers (and you) to verbally agree to that price over the initial call, so that you DON'T have to drive to their house for just a quote? what happens when you commit to a 300$ job and they forgot to tell you ALL their windows are inset or there are snakes living in the tracks, etc.... Obviously you then explain to them how you have to adjust the quote, I know. I just think you'd say in the script "that sounds like our X package, BUT WE WILL DETERMINE THE FINAL PRICE ONCE WE GET THERE..... Slammin you with lot's of questions but when you're good at what you do and put that sh*t on the utubes that's what happens!! Keep on truckin.
