Rutgers is good, especially defensively. Biggest disappointment about Purdue is that once again they were ill-prepared for game 1 of the conference season after Jan 1. They did exactly the same thing last year, losing to Wisconsin at Mackey. How on earth is this team not ready for the 3-man press that everyone on earth knew Rutgers would try? Last year Purdue was never the same after that Wisconsin loss. Let's see if they can recover.

Which one you talking about, the out of bounds that left 0,.4 sec left. Didn't matter, Purdue did get ball back, but tough to score with that little time left.

With Rutgers in deep foul trouble, we should have been driving to the hoop for the last 5 minutes. Get a layup and/or get fouled. Sorry, but coach lost this game for us. 😞

Imma say it because Matt can’t. There were at least 10 points after terrible calls by the refs for Rutgers (or no calls) and the fact their coach didn’t get a Tech in those last 30 seconds is absolutely terrible. The ref had to physically push him back into the coaches box.
They’re were 24 fouls called against Rutgers and only 11 against Purdue. The refs kept Purdue in the game y’all are gonna get smoked when you come to Piscataway
Come on, 28 free throws to 11 for RU and you think Purdue was getting hosed by the refs? It was a great close game, Purdue had a chance to close it out but missed the shot. Give RU credit.
Not @ any of ya but if there is a foul there is a fouls I could show you a clip of every single call I am talking about and you wouldn’t be able to tell me I’m wrong. As to the calls against RU you do the same and I’ll believe ya
@@danielmccann8325 yes the free throw disparity is true and Rutgers played a good game overall making plays they needed to. However, Rutgers got a lot of calls and bounces go their way. They could have gotten called for about 10 more fouls honestly. That's ok, that's the strategy they chose to go with on defending Purdue and it worked out today. This reminded me a lot of how Texas defended Purdue in the NCAA tournament last year and Purdue shot like 46 free throws. That game was also called a lot tighter though. I guess my point is, sometimes you get away with playing ultra aggressive, and sometimes you don't but that was the difference in this game.

Yep, it's sad how often Boilers manage to lose at home. They will lose 3-5 more before tourney and 2 of those probably at Mackey.

I get what you are saying, but we don't exactly have a team full of dribble driving guards. You have to play to your strengths.
I quit watching Purdue years ago, so tell me, in nearly every game do we still hit a 5-8 minute cold stretch in which we can’t make a basket?
