Can anyone help - I bought an EOS-M that had an SD card already with Magic Lantern. It worked fine, but the card is not fast enough to record video in RAW. I want to install Magic Lantern on a better SD card, but can't seem to do so. I followed the above steps but I get the message 'memory card containing firmware is required to update'. Any advice?

After I installed Magic Lantern on my camera, can I take that 16 GB SD card out, and then put a different SD card in and still be able to use Magic Lantern on my camera? Or do I have to have those 2 files and 1 folder on every SD card I use in my camera?
Hi Michael! Yes, you have magic lantern installed on every SD card you use. The reason is so your camera's firmware is not being replaced with magic lantern's firmware. Instead the magic lantern firmware is installed on the SD card to override the camera's firmware. It's safer overall for your camera to not be corrupted. If you have any other questions, let me know!
Just updated my canon 550d firmware to the latest version: EOS Rebel T2i / EOS 550D Firmware Update, Version 1.1.0 Where can I get a version of Magic Lantern that will run on this latest firmware update?
sir i have 6d mark ii dslr but my problem is that firmware has 1.1.1 and ml has 1.1.6 firmware is required in 6d mark ii. That's why I can't install ML on my 6D camera. What Can I do?
Hi! Thanks for watching! Do you have the files copied to the root of the SD card? as apposed to coping the whole extracted folder to the root of the card. I think the firmware files are not being recognized because its in a folder and not in the on the root of the card. Also make sure you format your card before you Transfer the ML files. Watch 3:00 - 5:00 to make sure the ML Process was done right. Let me know if this helps.
Is there a solution to restore the camera? I tried to boot up the camera with the SET button pressed, which is supposed to remove the ML. However, the camera cannot be turned on since. Does anyone have suggestions to fix it please? I tried this on a 60D Thanks
Hi samyliu, if you want, you can put in a new SD card and it will boot without ML. The ML is only installed on the SD card and not on the camera itself (it doesn't replace camera firmware). Also if you don't have an extra SD card and want to boot without ML. try to disable any custom function associated with the SET button, from canon menu. Or reflash ml on SD card. And you can try booting with the SET button pressed. Hope this helps!

Can I switch from one card to the other? So that when Card "A" is in the camera I'm using Magic Lantern and when Card "B" is in, it is using the camera's firmware like it did the day I brought it home from the store. Thoughts ?
A very late answer here, but I'm only now looking into this and others will follow... It seems that is the case. An SD that NEVER had ML on it would boot up into Canon firmware. What's even easier is that even with the ML SD card in the camera, you can just hold the SET button as you switch on and it will load Canon's stock firmware instead of ML.

hey man, I'm using the rebel t2i, with a high-quality faster Sd card and it can't shoot with 60fps or 50fps, I click the record button when I'm on high fps, and immediately the camera shut down. hope you'll help me, thanks advanced.

Don't work on my camera menu flickers off and on and stops recording after 4 seconds it's not my card as I have a fast card.

Hi Christian! Yes. IT can be done in the Magic Lantern menu.
ML menu > Display > Clear overlays
