As soon as Curb came out it was clear who the genius behind Seinfeld was.
Were you in the writer's room during Seinfeld? Lol, you have no idea.
Watch Curb and tell me it's not Larry David who was driving that ship. Let's not kid ourselves here. @@aloha2430

I’ve tried several times, Curb is only occasionally funny. They both needed each other to find the magic on Seinfeld.
"Seinfeld finally has an opinion about something, and it's me?"
Seinfeld is arguably the best comedy show of the 90s, but everything that's been made since has convinced me that Larry David is the actual genius of the two
I mean, obviously. Have you seen the seasons of Seinfeld from after Larry left?
I tried to be as into as my friends were, but I just didn’t like Jerry. I fucking hated him. Sorry guys.
I'd say Jerry's stand up equals and surpasses most episodes of Curb. And he's doing that solo. Larry's talent is surrounding himself with the right people.
I’m inclined to agree- but the last few seasons of curb have also been very weak IMO. Maybe Larry’s just phoning it in?

I recently saw Jerry do a bit to a middleclass crowd where he talks about paying rent being a scam and when he figured out paying rent was a scam he just stopped paying rent and bought a house. Really connected with those folks. Behhhhhh.

@@michaeltorris5675 wtf are you talking about? Jerry has been married for like 30 years.
@@DrSbaitsojr He is 17 years older than she is, and he had always dated much younger women. Why do you think Bobcat added the joke about Comedians in Vans Handing out Candy at Playgrounds? Because it is known that Seinfeld likes ‘em young.
😂😂😂
Bobcat met Nikkie Cox when she was 16.
Goldthwait is right about Seinfeld essentially avoiding controversy, yet defaulting to the same "personal responsibility" argument as any right-wing comedian, but Seinfeld was also right about Goldthwait's cheap stand-up persona. I never found it funny, but I do like his films.
You'd be surprised what Stand Ups used to do in there act

Bobcat definitely didn't groom 16-year-old Nikki Cox on the set of Unhappily Ever After in '95 to be his concubine in '97. Bob would've been canceled forever if he pulled that shit today. Nikki Cox's life got ruined by "BOBCAT" when she was just a kid. She's a hot mess. The Girl Seinfeld was with is a suceffull designer and a happily well adjusted mother wife and adult decades later.

Seinfeld should have Bobcat on the show and they can just duke it out in the car, verbally of course ... or otherwise, either way it'd be a hoot!

I've literally never understood the appeal of Jerry Seinfeld on any level. Honestly. I don't get it.

He's one of Larry David's friends
Jerry digging up an old feud that connects him to a cult is a weird move. I guess he's too big to fail, but if you read how he has responded to the Scientology stuff in the past it is clear he was more involved than "taking one class in 1975". The more I see of Jerry's actual personality outside of Seinfeld the more I wonder what kind of skeletons are in his closet.
Incredibly low class to do it on his massive Netflix show. Even more low class to do it in front of Bobcat's friend while they were trapped by being on the show. Probably the last episode of that show I'll watch. It was awful.
Weird they also chose to keep it in, they could have edited it out!
Not just the cult, but how about dating a high school chick when you're a man in your late 30's. Bobcat slipped that in there, too.

Lol no it's not. Chill little man
Every standup I’ve seen from Bobcat has actually made me laugh. Which is more than I can say for Seinfeld’s standup. Jerry was “funny by proxy” on his show, because he was surrounded by funny, talented people
Wow you must have a sick srnse of humor. I saw Bobcat live and the few hokes he told were a decade old. He spent a lot of time degrading and putting down ither comedians. I paid for a comedy show and got gim walliwing in pitty as a very butter old man.
@@davidscott1340 I do, and I think that’s better than having whatever sense of humor makes one think Seinfeld is funny. Also, if one show is indicative how funny a comedian is in general, you should take into consideration the time that Seinfeld wasn’t getting any laughs at a college show, and then blamed the audience. Instead of realizing that his bland, 30-40 year old observational “comedy” isn’t very funny to most people nowadays
@@OnlyAtJaMart I went to a Seinfeld show this year. All new & relevant material, sold out audience, tons of laughs. He's not my favorite comedian, but he's certainly influenced comedy in some massive ways. And he's definitely more liked than Bobcat, which I think is a good way to measure a comedian's success. Niche humor is fine and all, and everyone can have their taste, but there's no denying that Jerry is more popular.
And can we stop this stupid "Larry did more than Seinfeld" debate? You weren't in the writing room, you have no idea. And judging from the fact that Larry never got pissed and asked for a bigger share of the earnings, I'd guess they were both fine with the arrangement.

Bobcat plays Guitar?? That’s awesome
There really should be a comedian shoot out, like a 1-3 minutes of roasting the other person, back and forth until one just clearly wins.

Pretty stunning for Seinfeld to still have the nerve (and thin-skin) to go after a far more modest comedian after so many years...I retract my previous statement here lol
What's the deal with people believing the Jerry voice in this clip was real???
I agree. Seinfeld is easily the most overrated (by himeself, mostly) comedian and has always has been.
This - all of the comedy of "Seinfeld" came from his co-stars and guest stars, if the show was just Jerry it would have been cancelled within a season.

Jerry is widely considered one of the best stand up comedians of all time. Jerry and Larry David created the best sitcom of all time. Bob is a great character and he is funny in some movies but Jerry wins 100 : 0
Jerry on CICGC with Bridget Everett: "I can do comedy". Really? There's a formula? Are there stats? Comedy, like any art form, is subjective. Pick one or the other.
No idea who Bobcat is, but I think everything he said about Seinfeld is more or less on point. If you reevaluate what goes into the sitcom, you're just left with a pompous ass that's decent at stand-up.
I like Seinfeld, I think his show's probably one of the five best sitcoms ever made, I find "Comedians in cars getting coffee" very interesting and I even like some of his old material, as bland and as innofensive as it may have been, but he has this history of getting weirdly deffensive whenever someone says anything to him that even sounds like a critique, that makes me think he's probably a huge asshole in real life. I don't mind arrogant people all that much, I don't particularly like them either but I don't think thinking high of yourself automatically makes you a bad person, but I tend to mistrust insecure people. If you think high of yourself you shouldn't mind someone saying you suck.
Secure/grounded/nice people can laugh off criticism. I think he probably knows that the success of "Seinfeld" had everything to do with the writers and his co-stars, and nothing to do with him.
@@yellowblanka6058I heard Jerry on Alec Baldwins podcast and I quickly realized he has ego issues and insecurities, he was downright rude and unpleasant and even alec baldwin had to call him out on it
