The success of Seinfeld was more about Michael Richards, Jason Alexander and Larry David.

Pretty much. Jason Alexander was Larry’s conduit. But to his credit, Jerry was a good foil to George Costanza.
But without Larry David’s writing, Jerry Seinfeld’s comedy is pretty average at best.

I liked the movie. I would probably give it 6/10. I thought it was a silly story told to a young kid by Seinfeld. I watched it with my youngest son. That’s probably why I liked it too. Because I could watch it with him and we shared a couple laughs. If you want to watch a movie with a young person like a kid, niece or nephew, it’s not a bad choice. If you are alone or with other adults, I could see how this wouldn’t appeal.

I think it depends on your sense of humour and what your expectations were. the movie appealed in the same way that podcasts like cumtown did, which did have an audience.
The jokes are this mix of one liners and/or surreal and silly premises, the kind that anyone with a funny and creative group of friends is very familiar with. and thats the beauty of it, there is no plotline, or story to be told, its just a general silly foundation for the writers to sit around riffing and coming up with funny ideas.

I too, never thought Jerry Seinfeld was funny. I'm old enough to remember watching his debut on Johnny Carson. I thought to myself, "that's supposed to be funny?". Watching his stand up since then has never changed my mind about his comedy routine. Not funny!
Jerry is nothing more than a straight man. Think of Abbott to Costello and Oliver to Hardy. In my opinion, Seinfeld was a hit because the other actors were the real comedians while Jerry played the "straight" man they could bounce their routine off of. Does any fan, of Seinfeld, honestly remember a scene where Jerry was funny by himself?
The last couple of years, when writer and co-creator Larry David left the show, it fell on Jerry to come up with the new material. That's when the series started to fall flat and they signed off.

@@DIHUpodcast Yeah, but Dwayne Johnson doesn't write and direct his movies. This is written by a stand-up you don't like, directed by him, from a stand-up bit he did, with the sense of humor you don't think he has.

Maybe you don't understand. So let me shout it for you. I CAN SEPARATE ACTORS AND DIRECTORS FROM THE FINISHED PRODUCT TO DECIDE IF I LIKED A MOVIE OR NOT. Hopefully that clears things up for you.

Let me shout it for you. SEINFELD WROTE THE THING, AND YOU DON'T THINK HE'S FUNNY, SO WHY WOULD YOU THINK THIS WOULD BE FUNNY? Hopefully that clears it up for you.

So just mimic what I just did. Shows you have nothing left to say. Work on your comprehension skills. Or just stay off the Internet.

Of course you would not understand. You don't think he is funny. The rest of plant earth thinks he's funny . He's so sucesssfull, they allow him to do what ever he wants. Does anyone allow you to do that? I don't think so.

Yeah. I do whatever I want. No one tells me what to do.
That was possibly the dumbest comparison I've ever heard. 🤣🤣

A very convoluted story of a possible good idea that Jerry Seinfeld really screwed up. He is out of touch with this films audience. For example, look at Curb Your Enthusiasm. Everything about that show and the way Larry David approached it, worked. On paper it shouldn't, right? Larry's the same age and generation , but he chose to to make the show about the absurd situations then let his costars tear into it using improvisational humor and not worrying about being politically correct. Which makes you think of who was the genius behind the Seinfeld Show? My thought are that Jerry is a smug, critical want-to-be actor who may have some stand-up chops for his audience but in this situation, he had no focus on what this film supposed to be. It felt very scattered and that was a shame considering the talent he had at his disposal. Was it satire, a play on current events, historical story telling of two powerhouse companies or a bad version of a bit from his act. I think it was that latter. I think he is good at letting other people be funny around him. Swing and a miss Jerry.

Seinfeld was vanilla network junk for whitebread squares. McJokes for McDopes.

Seinfeld is the comedy equivalent of mediocrity for its own sake. Without US-American imperialism and New York narcissism, garbage like that would never have seen the light of day.
