Great video. What better than to spend the night at a summit. I have done so numerous time, but I suppose one needs to be confident on the weather. Once in the Caringorms on the summit of Cairn Toul, I woke up to the whole tent being covered in snow.
Cheers Malcolm, sorry I didn't reply sooner. TH-cam never gave me a notification for it. Only now I'm on the laptop I've seen it. Hope you've got loads of summit camps planned for when lockdown eases.
nice one fella, you are right about taking your eye of the plan and getting caught out. Have had a couple of wee moments myself and lets just say, someone was keeping an eye on me that time.
Mate! I'm currently editing my latest vlog and have placed a 'message' regarding the heat and how hillwalking can be quite tricky in there. When I heard you mention the tumble I knew exactly what you meant by the story. It usually appears safe but who knows what can be thrown up. Great vlog again and good to see I'm not the only one who was being harassed by horse flies. Good looking area and wit this weather I'd love to hi that wee lochan to chill. Keep up the good work.
Behold Scotland cheers mate, aye even in good conditions you've got to check where you are. Lesson learned. I was too lazy to get my compass out. Clegs are shocking this year. I'll look out for your vlog. 👍🏼
Nice video mate, cracking sunset and views from your pitch, I'm the same I prefer meths to the fancy stoves. Was out hiking and camping in the heat myself for a few days, it's a killer walking in the sun. All the best mate 👍
Yeah, I always have an emergency bivi bag with me, my partner knows my itinerary should she need to raise the alarm. Thinking about purchasing a PLB at some point too.
@@WalkWithWallace too many times i walk off route when i see something interesting, will certainly get one in next couple of years. Especially when i retire and probably do more solo walks.

Cheers Willie, aye it is easy to get into bother or get a bit lost. 😬 Doesn't happen too often thankfully.
Just planning some QMD's and here you are again! Nice one mate. :-)
Cheers David. 😁 QMD: Quality Munro Days? 🤔
Almost.. Quality Mountain Days, for ML qualification.
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 thought about it myself, good luck mate. 👍🏼
That heat and those bloody stable fly's gotta watch yer knees and elbows.

Really enjoyable watch. Heading there with a mate next week. Hope those flies have calmed down by mid-October.
Cheers Richard, aye you'll be fine now. Those pests are long gone.

Gaziano Outdoors cheers Gaz, alcohol burners all the way. The weather has been great, even if the heat has been unbearable at times.
Not just a good day but a good life can be ruined by a momentary lack of concentration. Do you take any safety/emergency gear with you Robin.

@@alistairthow1384 definitely a wise investment, particularly if you do a lot of solo walking.
