Can you import photos directly from this camera to Lightroom version 5, without downloading them first via EOS utility, in order to make it one step process instead of two?
Yes, you can. However, the Lr tethering isn't reliable, and you lose the function of recording duplicate copies of RAW files both in camera memory cards, and computer hard drives. If you are keen to only use one app for tethering C1 may be a better option than Lr.
Hi have you ever tether via WIFI directly in Lightroom? I used to tether WIFI through Lightroom and then one day it stopped working on any of my computers. Just wondering if yourself or anyone reading this comment has had the same issue? It's killing me!!
Tried WIFI connections for tethering with both Canon 5DIV and R5 bodies, I would advice against professionals use the WIFI, due to its slow and unreliable nature. With the WIFI turned on, camera bodies would also consume battery power x1.5 to x2 times faster, and with R5 the body could potentially overheat under moderate to high shoot load. Just use a cable. And look into Capture One as well if you have the budget, which I find is a more superior software for tethering functions.
@@YuanImages Thanks for the response, im fully aware of the battery usage and stability of it but it's been amazing until it stopped. The bodies were fine wifi tethering didn't heat up etc, and I also used capture one and I have the same issue that the software cannot find the camera as I read up that capture one had the tether option and tbh capture one is very reasonably priced haha. However no good if it doesn't do what I need. I just thought I'd post and see if anyone else was in the same situation and had an answer. Thanks Yuan
Thank you so much for this video. You are very clear in your process. I hope most of this will work with my Canon 5D Mark 11.
Great tutorial! Thanks.
Thx, now it works in LR.
Thank you!
Could I get a link to the cable mount bracket you are using in this demonstration? Thank you!
It came with 5DIV body along with other accessories in the original Canon box. Maybe there's used for sale on eBay.
@@YuanImages thank you!

Perfect!
