And then there are those judgmental souls who haven't even listened to the original because they have some knee-jerk prejudice against the artist whose work they barely know. TH-cam and TickTock have created a cover bonanza for many artists trying desperately to generate recognition for their own work in an unbelievably difficult market for new music. Billie's music alone has generated hundreds of covers, some atrocious, some great. The one generalization one can make is that without these great original songs, these cover artists would be yodeling in the bathtub. If you like a cover, go buy their music. It will do them a lot more good than patting them on the head and telling them that their version is "better than the original."
