    Regarding systems, it really is a matter of application: remembering phone numbers, multiplication tables, appointments. Some systems have greater learning curves that others. Individuals may need long-term retention while others simply want to retain the information for a test.

    Brilliant little video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I spent a while creating a major system, mostly of objects and animals (40 - Rose; 93 - Puma etc). I want to use the PAO system, though, so I'm wondering if I now need to re-do my major system to make it all people (40 becoming Rod Stewart; 93 becoming Paul Merton). I avoided that at first because I thought too many people would risk confusion and crossovers, but now I realise it's a lot easier when each person is assigned the object and action. Looking forward to it already.

    Dominic looks better imo but how do you deal with odd numbers? Do you fill it with majoy system?
    Take for example 15 35 64 1. I can't use 01 on the last one since I would be sneaking an extra 0 before the 1

    • @mnemotechnicsacademy
      @mnemotechnicsacademy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry, I didn't see your messages. @dariovdo3237 @AshAndCream - You can create an extra set of images for digits 0-9. Number shapes, number rhymes, shaper system, etc. are all methods that will work to create those 10 extra images. • @mnemotechnicsacademy
      @mnemotechnicsacademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can change things around if you want. The important part is that you can go from the number to the image and back. The systems are just various ways that help you do that, and it's fine to modify them if it helps you remember the images better.

    I've been trying for over 30 years to adapt these systems to allow me to memorise chess openings and games. I have been unable to do so due to the fact that, if the same opening is used in 100 games, I cant find a way to make the associations unique to a specific game.

    It might, that I miss something, but I don't see the benefit of your System. For the first Column (Person) it's easy to reproduce, because you have your mnemonic-system to reproduce them. But as far as I see, you have to memorize all Actions and Objects too, to be able to reproduce them. BUT you don't have the way to reproduce them by your memorizing-system, because they don't assigned to the number them self. You have to learn it by heart. (Example: Your 16 = Action "lifting"... because it's the second part of the Row 15-16-33, I see, that 16 is an Action, but I need to know this action by heart, to be able to reproduce it.) In this case, you have to memorize 89 (10 till 99) Objects, and 89 Actions, which all need to be fully unique.

    • @mnemotechnicsacademy
      @mnemotechnicsacademy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either pick actions/objects that match the sounds or ones that match the persons. For an example of a system that matches the sounds for P, A, and O, see this example:
      forum.artofmemory.com/t/major-system-based-pao-with-pictures/26953/12
      For other examples, see this page:
      artofmemory.com/wiki/PAO_System_Examples
      Personally, I don't use PAO but just have one image for every 1-digit, 2-digit, and 3-digit number (1,110 images).
      I recommend asking your question in the forum too, because people there might have additional tips:
      forum.artofmemory.com/

    • @richardheal2648
      @richardheal2648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol Samuel it isnt 'his' system :) and what do you mean 89 objects? It's 100 people, actions and objects in PAO.

  • @sAmSu7
    @sAmSu7 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Isn't there an misstake in your Video at the explanation at 11:54? You told to use he major-system for PAO, but use the Dominic-System e.g. 15 isn't AE in Major-System, but T-L.
    You better notice this in the Video, so that the watchers are not confused about this?!

    • @mnemotechnicsacademy
      @mnemotechnicsacademy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The video is saying that the image generation system can be different than the image placement system. The Dominic System and Major System are image generation systems, and PAO is an image placement system. You can use any image generation system with any image placement system. So it's okay to use the Dominic System for PAO. See the section at 13:02, and let me know if you have any questions. If you post in the forum, we could have a longer discussion about it there: forum.artofmemory.com/

      In the Dominic System, "E" is 5. If you want to use "S" for 5 you can do that too. Many people customize the systems. My own number system is customized -- a variation of the Ben System. --Josh
