Βecause nba teams have talent coming out their butt. At that point once they've got their star(s) they only look for very specific players that fit a profile based on the coach's vision. They don't just give contracts to guys just because they're good enough.
It was a dark skin player by the name of Mike James who was also a underrated beast he was actually in that game where Kobe scored 81 if I'm not mistaken he had like 45
I went and watched some casual euroleague highlights and jesus mf christ they dont play around at all over there. Mike James will be the greatest US player of all time. Playing here is literally like some type of sick warm up to him you can see it in his aura
